My xb caught on fire. Its an '06 xb12r with 2200 miles. The dealership is quoted me $4500 to fix it. Will the insurance company total the bike? |

If it's worth more than the $4500 they probably won't. I dunno. I prefer to avoid the insurance scam *ahem* man. What was the problem? Frame rupture or something? (Message edited by kowpow225 on May 03, 2007) |

I need a new wiring harness, alot of sensors, fuel lines, oil lines, primary cover(or paint), swingarm(or powder coat), rear subframe, rear shock, and lots of different hoses and stuff. |

See! Your bike was so hot with the extended swing arm, it spontaneously combusted. Dude, that sucks. Fires are tricky things from an insurance standpoint. It's very difficult to get everything back in shape. How long was it on fire? Where did the fire start? Do you know for certain that the frame didn't buckle from the fire? Was there any engine damage? |

Fuel line broke and started spraying gas directly towards the exhaust, it was on fire for like 3 min, until i got a fire extinguisher |

A cynic might observe that perhaps you put the fire out too soon. The thing is to total the bike without burning down the garage. Tricky bit of business, of course, and rather difficult to practice properly, if you follow me.

The question then becomes how long can you let 'er roast before the neighbors notice. *HONESTY AHEAD* I've had a fascination with fire since I was a kid. |

Any idea what might have caused the full line to" break"? |
