UUUUMMMMM, dont be so hard on yourself....ummmmm the only incident was uummm you really though i had a great time and never thought you were leading us blindly.....you did say " what ever happens, ride at YOUR skill/pace" i think we pretty much did that...you only get better at something, when learning from someone better than you.....with in YOUR limits and only you now that. ohhh and did yah catch the smily! |

I'm with Nate - you didn't lead poorly those of us that needed to back down did so when we needed to and caught you up at the stop signs, lights and...bike inspection spots...you may have pushed your envelope a little but did nothing to put the rest of us in danger - maybe edged us closer to some tickets but not into danger The important thing is that we all got home safe and are ready and able to go at it again the next time. I had a great ride and can't wait to go out again. Hey Scotty_J...damn glad to hear the wife is safe!!! Best of wishes and all the thanks to her for being out there for the rest of us!!! Don't be too worried about the chicken strips on the tires...all but one of mine are gone after 4,000 miles but on some of the corners the feathers still seam to come flying out of...well...some where...the trick I think is to know when that corner is coming... |

Look at it this way, Greg: you led a safe ride by showing us what NOT to do. If it was an unsafe ride we would have all stacked up on top of you in that corner like a bunch of lemmings. So did you wind up with Erik's D&D or a different can? In other words, who's going to be the loudest on the next ride? I recently repainted my stock can. Sand the crap out of it and apply five coats of BBQ black. Looks like new, at least until next winter's salt hits the road. And when is the next ride? It looks like it's going to be a cloudy weekend, slight chance of rain Saturday morning. As I've said before, my schedule is wide open. |

That's a funny one. The can i got from Erik is just a stock one.I believe (mostly) that noise is overrated. |

Just messin w/ ya Greg....Look foreward to getting back out in the twisties w/ ya soon. Hey havn't herd from Claude lately...maybe we should rattle his cage for a ride also.. I am hopping to get my shock back this week even though he said maybe 2 weeks. This weather is KILLING me. It better be worth it!!!! He is redoing the entire shock to match the front forks for me. (well as close as he can) He is not a buell lover from the comments he has made.... You know as soon as he gives it back the skies will open up and the rain will follow with my luck.... Still no luck with a "close" job. Looking like I may need to travel for one till I can find one closer to home. My funds will be getting tight shortly and I can't let that happen.... Not to many companies Around my house that need a Cad Drafter... |

Eric- Fellow CAD guy here. Good luck in your search... I sent out a few emails to former coworkers, but they came up dry. Wish my company was hiring; two Buells in the lot would look cool! |

Scotty_J & Firebolteric...what systems do you guys know, AutoCAD, PRoE...? I have a friend at MassMEP and he is in and out of different companies day in and day out. If you let me know what you can do...I'll keep my ears open. I know my parent company could sure use some...unfortunately the f'n French won't let us hire anybody...the big wigs across the pond just aren't understanding the picture. |

D'oh! on the headlights, Greg. Don't forget to check your brake light fluid while you're at it. JP- I'm perfectly happy with my company, just bored. We're sorta between projects. Eric's the one who's looking, I was just trying to help out. So when are we riding? |

I'm out for Saturday...family obligations on the girlfriends side. I may be able to make something Sunday afternoon or meet up with people after the breakfast in the middle of 'the ride'. Still no change with my aunt so any plans I try to make now are completely subject anyway... You guys put something together and I'll pop in if I can. |

Speaking of loud vs quiet pipes... I am interested in getting something that has a bit more of a rumble to it. Nothing obnoxious mind you just a little something that I can hear when riding through tunnels and under long overpasses. What are my options? While I'm at it...have any of you looked into changing the lights? Nate...I noticed that you have both of your lights on at once...very odd for a Buell...a mod??? or is that a model year difference? |

JPB Nate...I noticed that you have both of your lights on at once. Yep its a mod you can find here real simple.. maybe five minutes. Side note make sure you adjust head lights ummm first time driving at night"Tonight" and one was ok the other was pointing at the sky. also in the market for a pipe....definitely dont want it to loud just more throaty and no loss in performance. |

I got headlights. The Low beam was toast, the high beam had a loose connection, probably from when i fiddled with the chrome flaking inspection months ago.I began with the multimeter and had voltage to the lamps connections. I scuffed up,and gave the new X1 can another coat of header paint, good as new.I'll assemble that one tomorrow, wishin' the 996 was ready for assembly,it's so nice out now.. |
