from Mitch Ware, on behalf of Missy Boersma, April 30, 2007: Everyone, Hello! I am Missy Boersma, one of Matt's friends from Grand Rapids. As you know from the regular updates, several of us have been planning a series of fundraisers to help Matt out with his expenses. The next event is one for the whole family! Please mark Friday May 18 on your calendars, as we are having a scrumptious, fun filled spaghetti dinner with all of the fixings. The dinner menu includes: Penne Pasta with Marinara Sauce Caesar Salad Garlic Bread Cheese/Cracker/Fruit Display Sheet cake Punch, Coffee and Lemonade Thanks to the generosity of Tommy Brann, the dinner will be held at the Brann's Catering/Banquet Center on South Division (between 36th Street and 44th Street). People are welcome to arrive anytime after 6:00pm. The dinner will be served buffet style beginning at 7:00pm and available until 9:00pm. At nine we will begin a series of raffles and perhaps a silent auction or two!! Please bring your kids as there will be special games for them to play! [EDIT-FB] Brann's Catering, Wedding & Conference Center 4945 S. Division Wyoming, MI 49548 Call us at 616-538-4384 Toll free at 866-802-7266 Email us at cateringinfo at branns dot com Fax 616-451-3212 www.branns.com [END EDIT] The donation for the dinner is $10.00 per person or $30.00 per family. We have to let Tommy know by no later than May 11 so please let us know before then! Last but certainly not least, please let me know if you have any items you would like to donate for one of the raffles. Perhaps you have something cool that you really like and think others would too... it is okay to buy another one and donate it to dinner :-) Or, perhaps you are a skilled gardener and have a few hours available to work with a lucky winner in their flower beds this spring giving guidance etc., that is a wonderful item to raffle and a great way to make new friends! We would be glad to raffle you off too!! Please email Missy Boersma at missboersma at yahoo dot com with a list of items that you would like to donate to this awesome cause! We really hope to see everyone there to support our dear friend Matt. All proceeds will go directly to offset any medical and financial needs created by this insidious disease. If you are unable to attend and still would like to contribute a raffle item, it would be more than appreciated. Or if you would rather make a financial contribution please send it to: The Matt Ware Benevolent Trust c/o Chase Bank - Jeff Pasma Personal Banker 6261 Kalamazoo Ave. S.E. If it wasn't for the fact that I need to be in GB to make sure that we pull off a dinner for 5000 people, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Best of luck to Missy and the crew!!! |

thx Dennis. from Missy a few minutes ago: Hello again, this is Missy Boersma! We are finalizing our plans for the fund raising dinner which is scheduled for this Friday May 18 with doors opening at 6pm. The menu includes a buffet style pasta dinner with all of the fixings. The cost is $10 per person or $30 per family! We have ordered extra meals, so if you haven’t placed your RSVP, come anyway and join in the fun!! The dinner will be held at the Brann’s Banquet facility at 4945 S Division Ave. S.W. Grand Rapids MI 49548. We are raffling off tons of really nice items ranging from rounds of golf, to scrapbooking; from professional hairstyling/haircuts by Phyllis Marsman (the Ware family stylist), to introductory airplane/pilots lessons; from Lions vs Packers tickets (at Ford Field) to more rounds of golf with carts and much, much more! This is a family oriented event, so please bring the kids! We have a clown, games, and lots of neat prizes for everyone! There will also be a box for you to drop off a donation check made out to the Matt Ware Benevolent Trust for your convenience, or perhaps you would like to just drop the family a note. Either way, there will be a box clearly marked for that purpose available to you at the dinner. As for the Wares, I spoke with Mitch this morning and they are doing great. They are laying low this week, trying to get reacquainted with their own house (Matt was at Hospice nearly 4 weeks… and the Wares spent most all of their time there with him). They look forward to seeing everyone Friday night at the dinner. If you want to get more involved, please note that we could use some more muscle with the setup and tear down. We also need a few volunteers for other miscellaneous duties that night. If you are available to help or have any questions at all, please call me at 616-318-0235 or drop me a note at missboersma (at) yahoo (dot) com. Thank you and see you Friday night! Missy |

I'm babysitting a bunch of snotty nosed pastors kids! Showing them the finer points of internet surfing. I'll get them all jacked up on Mt Dew before I send them home. I hope you all are having fun and I'm sorry I missed being there and meeting a fine bunch of people. |
