Anyone plan on going? I am headed down (trailering the bikes) next Friday, driving straight through and should roll into South Carolina (about 3 hours from Mrytle) on Saturday Morning. Anyway lets try to meet up if not more than to kick some tires and go for a ride. |

Better print some phone numbers. For the past 3 years I have been trying to get together with other BWB's, to no avail, phone tag, to much traffic, etc. etc..... |

It is actually a pretty cool mix of every kind of bike you can imagine, trust me on that one. Unlike Daytona, Myrtle is spread out over about a 15-17 mile strip. There are some nice 'loops' to ride on the bypass which takes you from North Myrtle to South Myrtle and Murrells Inlet. There are a bunch, .......A ton of biker bars with your standard wet t-shirt thing, Burn Out pits are really popular at a place called Suck-Bang-Blow, and Hb Spokes . The convention center is the center of the HOG events, if you go, go on Sunday, I got a brand new Buell helmet, the wife got a brand new HD helmet and a Buell sport touring jacket all for less than 200 bucks. Add on top of that, every vendor that has ANYTHING to do with 2 wheels will have a stand set up there. Down side is traffic during the day, and A LOT of police presence. They won't hassle you unless you just blatently do some squid action in front of them. Mostly just there to keep things at a good safe pace. It is something worth going to if you have never been. |

This will be my first time. Heading down with about 10 other bikers, all of them on Harley's and me the only one on a Buell. If anyone spots a whole bunch of 40-50 something year old, bearded Harley riders, riding with a Helmet wearing, 20 something rider on an Orange Xb12Ss; it'll prolly be me. |

I did it a few years ago. It's definitely a "Harley Thang." For some reason, I think I'd feel much more at home hanging with the African American contingent on their crotch rockets during "Black Bike Week." Of course, that crowd is less popular with the police than the Harley riders down there in South Carolina... |

I still think its weird re: the separate bike weeks down there. I guess us Yankees have little grasp on the way things are south of Delaware... |

Jaimec I have been down last 4 years and never had a problem on a Buell. In fact one year stoped in traffic in front of motel full of Hells Angels, a female H A said to me. WE LIKE YOUR BIKE NOT THAT RICE. A yamaha was beside me in traffic.the police are a lot friendler during HD rally than black bike week. Talking to locals there is a lot less promblems during HD rally. |

I never said I had a problem... it's just that I'm not into the whole "Poser City" atmosphere of a typical Harley gathering. Chrome and tattoos don't mean anything to me (though I do appreciate a good wet T-Shirt now and then). Myrtle Beach itself is a nice area... I'll have to try it some time when all the bikers are gone... |
