How did you manage to HIGH side a Buell? I'm sure you were upset. It sucks when you wreck something you love so much. |

How did you manage to HIGH side a Buell? How do you high side any motorcycle? Rear tire breaks free; rear tire catches; pain and damage ensue. Zed, I think you made the right call regarding the bike. I'll take a new bike over a damaged bike with a salvage title any day. |

ok so maybe i don't know the technical terms. maybe i didn't high side it. That was the phrase that was used to me when one of the other riders described what i did.i hit the front brakes in a left hand turn and went off the bike to the right...either way it sucked. So i am thinking about the TT as the next bike. I really want a 12 rather than the 9. it just wasn't enough for all 220 pounds of me. Any recommendations? I feel like i am starting fresh here and i want to make the right decision. the other thing that i keep thinking about is a speed triple...any thoughts? |

Triumph on a Buell Board?????? Looked at the triumph before I bought mine....Did not like the riding position.....Too low for traffic IMHO. Yes I spend most of my riding miles in HEAVY traffic. Zed your lucky you had gap coverage. We all wonder why a Buell is so expensive to insure. |

It is a great bike but has a few quircks you may not like Idle can be very jumpy and eratic very high seat position and a little cramped(knee bend) I have had 2 new triumphs in 8 years so I think I can say this , the rubber they use on the bike not the tires s*cks it dry rots and cracks in a year but all of that is minor it really is a nice machine just to much for me my good friend has one and he can not hang with me in the twisties but you know the rest he crushes me in the staights |

I was riding with Zed when he high sided , the curve we were going around was plastered with tar snakes that were just softening under the morning sun and there was a dog that was charging all the bikes as they passed. he held the bike for about 25 feet of yawing before the front tire bit in and sent him about 15-20 feet through the air before landing in a wetland. That mud saved him some very serious injury. hope to ride with you soon Zed |

Well here is what will happen to his bike... #3 before: After: #2 before: After: #1 before: notice the dent in the frame/tank...bondo... After: Sad part is I had to give more for all of them except the XB9S...$1000 because it was an '03, oldest one so far. It rocks to have three(or five) Buells for the price of one, and I got to put them together ala' XB9S City Cross headlight grille, black out, hand guards, pucks, w/Cherry Bomb red wheels.... So, the question is, would you ride one of these? Did I do okay??? |

Thanks! I buy them from insurance companies via salvage auctions...that's where totaled stuff goes...like http://copart.com/ or https://www.sapulpapool.com/new/default.asp I got a deal cooking on an '03 XB9R, liability only insurance..no money to repair...at the HD dealer, they know me from buying all the parts for these...we'll see |
