Well like the heading says......I'm going to Northern Ireland then England for work. First I'll be flying into Belfast then driving to Derry. It's actually called Londonderry but I've been told not to call it that, even more so when I'm there. I'll be there till the 4th of May. On the 4th I'll be flying over to York, England. I'll be there till the 9th or 10th of May. Are there any Badwebbers in any of the places that I'm going to? Also any in-sight into these places would be great. I'm doing some research but hearing it right from the horse's mouth is always the best, IMHO. I welcome all comments/suggestions. Thanks in advance, Jim AKA Damnut |

York is 37 miles from me. Have you got plans for York? Are you traveling alone? It would be nice to try and get you a ride out around our favourite roads. Rocket |

I have no plans as of yet. I'll be alone for the first few days there. I'm going to be working at the University of York. One of our systems there..... um ......kinda blew up. gotta go fix it. Can I rent a bike while I'm there? Thanks, Jim |

While in Derry you cannot miss a chance like that to visit Giants Causeway on the coast. While on your way there make sure you find time to tour the Bushmill's distillery. Free samples at the end of the tour. Depending on how much free time you get visit as much of the local scene as you can, the people are some of the most friendly folks you can ever meet. We have life long friends in Scotland that we meet in a pub. Don't be afraid to strike up a conversation with any one. If you have any more questions feel free to drop an e-mail, we have been there several times. Have fun and drink a pint for me!! Sliante!! Michael |

I was just thinking that you have to see the Giant's causeway! Good call Go to Pubs! Everyone hangs out in them, everyone is very friendly. Avoid discussing politics and religion. They will treat you grand, everyone has a cousin in America or Canada so you are very welcome. |

Just got to my hotel. Man what a day!! landed in Belfast this morning and started driving to Larne. From there I drove down A2 all the way to Derry. For those who don't know A2 is like the Pacific Coast highway in Cali. It runs right along the coast of Northern Ireland. What a great road with beautiful views of the coastline. It just so happens that the Giants Causeway was on my route. Pretty cool and I'm glad I stopped to check it out. From there I headed over to the Old Bushmills Distillery. Did the tour and bought me a bottle of their 12 year old Bushmills Reserve. Man does that stuff taste GREAT!!!!! They only sell it at the distillery. I just HAD to buy a bottle. shit I think I'm gonna go back and buy another, it just might be gone by the time I get ready to go home. Well I saw this "American" steakhouse around the corner from my hotel. gonna go have some din-din and relax. Thanks to all that posted.......... keep em coming!!! I'll post pics as soon as I shrink them. Peace, Jim |

I think your talking about Curly's Pub. That's the only place on the edge of town on 44 that has music and good food. That's probably a 2 minute drive from my house. |

You know the NorthWest 200 is coming up May 12th. Worth going out of your way to see that race. Runs through these towns; Portrush, Portstewart, and Coleraine in Northern Ireland |

Yea my customer told me about that race. I'm headed to England on the 4th and flying back to Belfast for a day and coming home on the 10th. If I didn't have to be back to work on that Monday I would stay here for that race. I have customers coming in for training so I have to come home on the 10th. But who am I to complain........ actually WTF am I doing online???? oh yea I came to change my clothes so I can go out again!!!! C-YA |

The Cookstown 100 is this weekend in Cookstown NI. This is a truly scary Irish road race on tiny country roads. |
