Buell finally posted on their site. Seems they have some ideas of their own. I still see nothing about a Hotel. |

Looks like the rooms are pricey. Lots of people don't want to spend that on a place that frankly won't be there other then to sleep. I could have set something up so it was more central....people together. Steve,Bud if I can be of some assistance let me know?? I've done this one before. |

Dana, If you've got something cheaper and more central, please let us know. It's going to be an expensive trip, as it is; gas will probably be well over $3.50 a gallon. If I can save a little on a room, and be a little closer to everything, so much the better. |

that all depends on what you call centrally located. Depends on what YOUR plans are. (Message edited by rocketsprink on April 21, 2007) |

And not to piss on anyones parade, but all were bitchin' (including myself) about Buell dropping the ball. Now their on track, set up event, found Hotels. That's about all they can do. It's up to you as to whether or not it's worth it. I will say this. Hotels may SEEM pricey, but don't forget that it's a Holiday Weekend, Summerfest is happening, the PGA Tour is in the area and summer is the busy season for ALL Hotels. Some will say "should have blocked rooms earlier". Well most Hotels won't do it that far in advance. Give them a little credit. At least they're trying. It is their first time at it. BTW, if you want centrally located, that would be western Milwaukee area. |

Here is a link to a map of the area with pins marking the destinations for Homecoming. I hope the link works. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&z=8&l l=43.213183,-88.17627&spn=1.921659,3.735352&om=1&m sid=116476162808383158253.00000112141ab5154df2a&ms a=0 |

Rocco many Hotel's and Motels will do things 6 months in advance. We've done it. The 20th and Dennis did it in Appleton last year. The races are at RA. the DRAGSTRIP is 1 1/2 hours away and thats Thursday and into the evening. Ukes has Bubba Blackwell Friday and most likely food as well. Your an hour 20 min away. The Factory is 30 minutes from the two places listed above. And if my gig is set in stone alot of people will not want to miss. All the hotels and motels in the area of the drag strip,Ukes, and a stone throw from the factory and Hal's I can still get plenty of room's below 100 bucks. The only longer ride will be to RA both days. Not only that Steve has plans for a deal with Court and few other's Friday night. I'm not bitch'n just that Thurday and Friday everyone will most likely want to be in this area. The hotels a that the Buell has listed are not really a ideal thing. For instance. Thursday... meet at Hal's in the morning. Then Parade to the factory for tour's. Then everyone or most will have to go check in to there Hotels. Well, they need to ride a hour plus to the RA area to do that. Then if they want to take in the Drag Strip and cook out its another ride an hour plus to do that. Then when its over ride an hour plus back to there hotels in the RA area again. that'll be close to riding 4 hours that day when most that travel here by bike will not want to do that much riding after just getting here. The way I have it thought out the only riding that we'll need to be done is to an from RA. Now I'm not implying that you Buellers don't want to ride but be able to hangout and bench race, relax, and enjoy others company. |

Was the 20th on a Holiday weekend? I don't think you need to ask anyone's permission. Post up what you have as far as Hotels with the cheaper rates. I'm sure no one will mind having more options. Not to sound like a jerk, but it doesn't matter to me where people stay, or what they do. I'll be at the Track all weekend. Only "Event" I'll be at is the races and popping in and out of the Courtesy area. |
