This photo was taken this summer on a ride thru West Virgina with racerboy. The bike now has 49,909 miles. BUT, I just took the body off for a little paint work, and getting ready to increase the bore and do a little head work. It's a 97 S3T with an all stock engine putting 83hp and 82 torque to the ground. My goal is 100 hp and as much torque as I can get.

Ok so my heads were switched from stock Lightning to Thunderstorm prior to delivery of the bike to the first owner, so I think it still qualifies under the rules: 98S1 (Thunderstormed at 0 miles) = 22,815 No rocker box gasket leaks (probably as a result of careful assembly by a caring technician, not the factory), the cases weep oil when driven extended periods at high RPM. Dyno=87HP at 20,000 miles. Somedays I wish it would go Cecil on me so I could justify Nallin's 1250 kit, but so far I'm happy with it. |

V2win, are you doing the headwork yourself or sending them to someone? I had mine done by Cycle-Rama. They did a great job, got me 92.1 torque & 93.7 hp with a Force pipe with no baffle & stock bore/stroke. A bit less torque & more hp with the baffle. I see there are some bikes here with some pretty good mileage. Gives me hope that mine will last quite a while, especially with the forged pistons that were installed. Dave |

'99 M2, bought in August of '01 with 860mi, now has 8100+mi. Both rockerbox gaskets let go, the front exhaust mount wore out, the tank stickers bubbled, and it's got a blown fork seal. Spike '99 Cyclone |

18,000 miles. The first 7,000 were DEMO miles. Valve seals were shot. Used 1 quart every 400 miles. Waiting for my Nallinized heads and cylinders. Planning to go at least another 18,000. Maybe then I can pick up a Firebolt for $5k. |

got the same bike sept. 28 and just did my 5k service. the guy i helped get into riding bought his classic a little over 1.5 yrs ago and had it in for 30k. he's only been riding for maybe 3.5 years and getting to turn 61 in a couple years. and to top things off he went off and bought an 01 low rider to sport around on. never thought he would enjoy it that much. |
