So today I ride my bike to work for the fist time. I have the gear on....black hd boots, nylon, armoured hd riding jacket, helmet..I got it going on. I pull into a bike space we have in front of our building and give her a couple of Vrooom, Vrooom, Vrooooom's befire shutting her down...you know, feeling kinda bad-assed. So I'm sitting here in my office and about 2 pm one of our customer service women walks in and says..."Hey John, is that your yellow scooter out there? Its soooo cute!" Bad assed to whooped assed in a split second. Anybody else have a similar "small bike" experience?? |

maybe you should ask her to come for a ride. I was at a gas station once with the an S4 and a girl comes over to tell me; "wow, that's a nice Jetta" to some these vehicles are stealth... they just don't see it |

Compared to other bikes, the bike to rider ratio is different. Even smaller riders look larger on a Buell. Big Bastards look truly odd. My wife calls them "figit bikes". |

I have had similar experiences at my work, first no one knows its a buell, they all think its some kind of ducati, and secondly, no one believes me that it is 1200cc, they all think its a 600. It is a small bike, when I first saw one back in 03 I thought it was a small beginners bike! |

Yeah, everyone asks if it's like a 500 or so laughing. The sudden look of surprise when I tell them nope, it's a 1200 is great. I tell them it looks short cuz it takes corners mad crazy. Then I tell them to just go look at the rear wheel ( cheese grater off of course ). |

I have been told that when underway both the bike and myself appear to get smaller...? I also get a bunch of people asking me if its a Ducati, despite the raised bold gold lettering on the tank. |

First thing out of my 9yr old nephew mouth when he see the bike is "WOW that is a cool moped, can I ride it?". Since then I have wanted to get a specialized plate that says M0P3D. |

My dad's always been against bikes and when I showed him mine he said " At least it's a real small one so it shouldn't be to fast or dangerous". |

Buellinachinashop said "That thing looks like Beaker from the Muppet Show". Captain_nartman said Never get this problem with the Uly. Mramsey says When you have a Uly everyone says it looks like big bird from the front with that beak. lol Believe it or not when I bought my Uly the dealer told me that before I bought it. |

Buellinachinashop, Add a Uly or Super TT front fender, paint it purple, and it will look like Gonzo from the Muppet show Even though my STT is white, my Brother-in-law named it Gonzo.

Who cares what people think? If you buy and ride bikes based on what women think, you should pick up a new hobby. Just ride it, it's a cool looking machine. Although, I may have picked a different color. I think black suits the bikes true attitude. Just paint it, the plastics are cheap anyways. |

I have to admit before I brought my kick ash cityx I used to call them (hero blue ones) the Fisher price bike. I guess I should have been calling them "Jolly Rancher bikes" Question, why is Gonzo packing heat??? |

I love that they think the bike is cute. I get that all the time, even when it is covered in mud. Just cant escape it, fun to take them out on rides though. down shifting into second is always a thrill for the back seat rider |

"down shifting into second is always a thrill for the back seat rider" I know I almost downshifted into my britches the first time I downshifted into 1st while moving just a tad too fast. |

"That thing looks like Beaker from the Muppet Show". I've thought my Orange Uly looks exactly like Beaker from Day 1. Generally I get one of two responses from people seeing it: A) That is a cool looking bike or B) Who makes it? When told Buell they either ask who makes Buell or walk away with the most confused look on their face like is Buell a new BMW model or something? |

"Hey John, is that your yellow scooter out there? Its soooo cute!" The proper response to this remark is "Hey, thanks! So are you! Would you care to go for a ride sometime?" If she is cute, take her for a nice ride & be sure to lay on the front brake a few times for a nice intimate experience. If she's a mutt, take her for a ride she won't soon forget. |
