I want to get my hands on one of these early shocks , with the white spring exposed. Anyone have anything laying around the garage ? Brian |

Just get a current WP or Penske, and see if they'll put a white spring on for ya. My Penske has a dark blue spring - matches the logos on my S1W nicely I think I also saw someone had put white silicone "vacuum hose" on their coil spring. Time consuming, I'm sure...but it looked pretty cool and you could get any color silicone you want from your local AutoStoned store. |

Yea .. I've seen that with the hose .. but I want the real deal .. and don't really want to fork out the money for the Works or Penske, had to spend too much on the S1 lately ... and I still have more to spend on it, as well as on the M2 ... |

I have no idea of what it looks like inside, not sure I want to chance screwing it up and having to buy the recall replacement .. I also don't think they are built quite the same to allow it. I figured the older one should be cheap enough to get still allow me to hold on to the one on it now. |

I've got my bled-to-death-on-the-garage-floor OEM from the S1W. I'll try to "surgically remove" the can and see what happens. Now...where's that Dremel.... |

I've been on a search for three years to find a pre-recall shock for my 96' S1 and, haven't had very much luck at all. I won a bid on ebay but was sick and didn't get on line fast enough and "Eforrdables" store, out of NY, sold it to someone else! I have some stuff to trade for a tuber Buell, and would love to find a,"in good shape", pre-recall shock. I live in post-Katrina New Orleans, money it tight!!!! Johnny |

Ok, just got off the phone w/ my shock guy and he says you cant take the tube off due to a machined fitting inside that needs the support, sorry, I do still have the rebuilt S1 shock for sale if anyone is interested. |

FIREMAN, I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN USE THE SHOCK YOU HAVE ON MY 96' s1, without a reservoir. I'll have to ask around and,} save for it too. Johnny |
