Hey Don, Yeah, the "Summer," or Spring for that matter, doesn't usually show up around here until late June or July. As for this weekend, not going to happen. Snow showers predicted for Friday and Saturday. The temps on Sunday won't break the 40's. Welcome to New England!! I'm originally from Arizona, where you can ride all year long. It's definitely frustrating sometimes. The bike is back in the garage. A few more weeks, and the riding should be much better. Dano |

Hey Scott when do you usually go to the track? |

Hey Eric, well we usually try to go when the track is OPEN! I like winter, but this is My brother is usually jonesing, but he ran out of $$ so his Suzook (the "RumShaker")isn't ready (though he can and will race his Ducati M900)..... I go on some Wednesday nights, especially if it is nice and I am going to have the kids on Friday night, and some Friday nights when I don't have the kids. They do come sometimes, but I pick them up on Fridays so it ends up to late and to hard to get everyone there (I usually ride to the track - I don't have a trailer). I also run on some Saturdays when they have "Streetfighter" motorcycle bracket races..... I guess what I am saying is that I would meet you guys there anytime I don't have the kids, and some of the time that I do! I am traveling more for work these days but know my schedule at least a few weeks out. So, any of you considering going, just post here what dates and Ill let you know if I am around. Conversely, I will post here a few days in advance if I am planning on going. Right now, Friday April 20th would be my 1st chance to go...... |

You're right Dan, Chester is not that far. Thanks for the offer! Most nights I don't mind the ride, it's a whole 8 miles, but it's good to know you have a trailer for those times the kids want to come! So does this mean you are ready to take on the strip? |

I'd need some wheelie bars! (Message edited by cgocifer on April 12, 2007) |

I'd need some wheelie bars! Nah.....Strap the front end and use some clutch control! The only guys I've seen ground loop were both ham fisted harley riders who somehow thought you could bring up the revs and just drop the hammer on a surface sticky enough to take you shoes off! I'm not saying you won't wheelie, everybody needs to find the limit of revs and clutch engagement, but I don't expect that you are going to dump your bike either! You XB guys really, really need to strap the front end, you can drag without it, but you will go quicker, be more consistent and have more fun if you just do it before you even come to the track. don't make me say "I told you so" after you finally get around to it!! |

P.S. You would have everyone, including the announcer laughing their a$$es off if you showed up with a 11 second bike with wheelie bars! Stretch it, lower or strap it and put a chain on it (only because of the longer swingarm) would be the way to go unless you are making 175 to 200+ HP......(and even then a lot of guys don't have bars) |

Let's not get carried away here. I was joking, and have no plans on strapping or drag racing my XB! I was kidding because the bike wheelies so easily. I know all about throttle and clutch control. I can get a pretty quick launch from the line by giving equal amounts of throttle to clutch actuation. I would do it to a track ho bike, but I'd rather not replace my clutch any time soon. It would be fun to watch everyone race though. I've been going to the drags since I was 3 years old. I still have my first car, a 1965 Chevelle that I used to bracket race back in the early 90's. So, no wheelie bars, it was just a joke guys.

My brother put 500+ passes on his ducati before it needed a clutch. I put 200 runs on my GPz-550 on the same clutch and it was still A-OK when I sold the bike. Both of these bikes also saw considerable 2 up spirited riding! I have about 3 dozen runs so far on the Buell, so I'll let you know when it goes, but I'm really not expecting it to happen anytime soon.... Think about coming out to the track and watching anyway - you might change your mind! Nice car! what did it run? |

I'm buying a bike soon and I'm thinking about buying a Buell. However, I've heard that some HD dealers don't necessarily provide the best service to Buell buyers/owners. So, I'm curious what people's thoughts (good or bad) are about the dealers in Meredith and Manchester. Any comments? |

Yeah, I haven't been to Merideth HD yet, but I've heard good things. The part dept. at ManchHD is good, Alfitzgerald works there and is a Buell guy. Other than that, I'd say mediocre at best. That would be a good outing. A ride up to Merideth for some lunch and a stop by Merideth HD. Scott, Thanks, the '65 ran/runs low-mid 13's. Not bad for crappy 3:08 gears. When I do the frame-up on it, I'll probably be putting in 3 : 77s. Oh, and a big block (hee hee). Actually, not sure on the engine. I won't be doing that project for another few years or so. Have to wait till I retire from the CG. Its currently stored in rust-free AZ. |

Hey guys, thanks for the info on the dealers. I'll be heading over to Meredith in a couple of weeks, assuming it stops snowing sometime. I'm up here near Lebanon and we got another 8 inches from the last storm and more on the way. Although, I can't complain, the conditions have been sweet |

Yeah, we skied Sunapee yesterday and it was the best conditions we've seen all season! If it isn't worth riding, might as well ski! Respectable times cgocifer! The track did open yesterday, I'll be there next weekend weather permitting.... |

Looking good for this weekend if anyone wants to ride. Saturday is best for me. Well, that is if the streets are dry and not flooded. (Message edited by cgocifer on April 18, 2007) |
