Hello - First of all, great forum here. Bought my 1st Buell on 3/7/07 after lusting for one since at least 1992. I have a dot matrix printed thank you letter from Erik Buell dated 3/17/1993 from when I requested a brochure via snail mail. Yep- it was a long wait. And I was a young 26 then... My Buell is a 2007 XB9R and I just love her so far. I have 230 some miles on the odo and can not wait to break the 500 mile barrier to run her to redline a few times. Man, I just love the v-twin. This is what a proper bike should feel like, sound like and smell like! And the handling is a big plus. Came off of an '05 Kaw Ninja250 that I bought new last year to see if I really wanted to get back into bikes. Put almost 3K on that bike last summer and I knew I was hooked again. Thankfully Mr.Buell kept the company around long enough for me to finally get mine! |

Howdy all!! I was told (several times) that people over here were talking about us.. so I decided to pop in... Not a Buell, Owner, but I've got a Buell Flyscreen on one of our bikes! I'll browse around a bit and stir the pot! |

Greetings from South-East Indiana. We have some decent twisties here, but I still go to Deal's Gap whenever I get the chance. The next will be Memorial Day Weekend. The old Cyclone has been sick. I do most of my own work on it, but I think it is something with the ignition system, so I took it to the pros. Wish me luck, I hope to have it back for the weekend. It was a long winter, and I need some time in the saddle. |

Love the website and thanks to all for the advice! I am a new rider and am proud to have an XB12Ss with accessories purchased from American Sport Bike! Weather is finally clearing up in Columbus and I am ready to hit the road and burn off the rest of this break-in period... |

Hello all! I'm new here. I bought a 2004 Buell Lightning XB12S in February. It's a great bike. I recently took the Rider's Edge course from Harley Davidson. It was great. I had an instructor named Mark who turned me on to this site. I hope to have some cool tales to tell once I get the bike out more. Seems like lately I'm working when it's nice and off when it pours! Oh well. Thanks for having me on the site! Later!} |

Hi all. Well I just traded my Rice Rocket for an '06 Ulysses and I have loved every minute of it so far. This bike is awesome. I have only been riding it for a week now and I get compliments on it every day. It sounds pretty good stock but I cant wait to get a pipe on her. Ive been poking around the forum and there is so much great info, and it seems like a great group of people here. Thanks for having me. hopefully I can contribute in some way. I'm up in Albany, NY, anyone else in the Cap District? -Scott |

Hello fellow Buellers. I just practically stole a 2001 X1 w/ 3000mi for $1500. I have been alittle cautious w/ H-D products all my riding career. I promised friend i would take care of her and look forward to a long, healthy relationship together. Ive done approx 300mi so far in 2 weeks or so since i got her legal and i love it tremendously. I also own a 2002 Suzuki SV650 since new. '87 Honda VFR before that. So ive always had a love affair w/ V's of some sort. Love the site. If you are a responsible motorcyclist, check out www.squidbusters.com. Great bunch of folks there too. L8R M8S |

Hi all. Bought an 05 Firebolt back in September last year and I've been lurking around since. Figured it was time to actually stop and say Hi. Currently in Bastrop, Texas just outside of Austin so I've got a fair amount of roads that this bike was built for. Lovin life, Austin |

Hey everyone! Great forum here. I remember seeing a post in here about a year ago where someone had posted a pic of a Uly laid down on its side and then wrote that it survived with just a scratch. So I bought my own Uly a few days later and she's been entertaining me ever since. I recently confirmed the tough reliability of my Uly in a very similar way. I currently live in Oceanside CA and have noticed an impressive rise in the number of Buells that I have been seeing around recently. Hope to see you all on the road...or off the beaten path...

Hello to all. After 35 years of motorcycling and enduring 4 Norton's for 27 years. I've decided, that I am really really tired of all the breakdowns, maintenance hassles and that blasted kick starter. Add to the mix my age, and let's not forget the Prince of Darkness George Lucas (Lucas electrics). I'm sure you get my point, it's time, for a long overdue change. Classic motorcycles are cool, I can't deny that. But I think it's time to ride more and work less. I'm a great mechanic but I am a much better rider. Time to put the skills to the test, and forget the rest. There's a new sheriff in town. and his name is Eric Buell! I was attracted to the Buell's because they seemed to be very similar to my Norton's in size and weight and handling. Well I test rode a XB12R and that is where all the similarities ended. The Buell is lighter by 20 lb., with more than twice the horsepower and torque. Add great suspension, tires, awesome brakes reliable electrics, and did I mention the starter? I swear the rear wheel seemed to be attached to an electric motor. Man It was sweet, and I was way past impressed Now I'm just biding my time till the 2008 release in July. With a 24 month unlimited mileage warranty, I say ride the wheels off it trade in in every 2 years (sounds like a plan to me). The Buell is the right machine at the right time for the right price, plus it american made, how can I go wrong? Now where is that starter button again? Everyone Dies, some never live. Ride like your life depents on it, Because it does! Be safe ...Ride responsibly Sign me ExNorton |

Welcome, ExNorton. My first ride was on the back of my dad's 1969 750 Commando. Are you sure you're going to be able to remember that it's no longer 1up and 4down? |

Hi folks. Just purchased my first Buell, a Uly, and I just love how RAW it is. I'm coming off a refined BMW (which I loved) but once I rode the ULY, it was over. Look forward to stomping around on this bad boy!! |

Looking forward to getting a Uly. I am going to head over to the dealer and get a test ride. I have been watching this bike since Buell released them, they look like a lot of fun to ride. I currently have an ST1300 and a CBR 1100XX, if I like the Uly the blackbird will be going on the block. |

Hi all, Not currently a Buell owner, but I've been a huge fan since I first saw the S3 way back in the day. The planets keep misaligning for me, but i have to be on a bike. I've been through a Norton, a Suzuki GT550, a Sportster 883, a Yam FZR600, and I'm currently on a KLR650. I rode an X1 back in 2000, but didn't buy it, stupidly.. It was one of the more fun rides I've ever had but it wasn't enough to really get the flavor. Anyway, I'm almost glad I waited, because the XB series is the best thing to happen to motorcycles since the Honda VFR1100 Interceptor back around 85 or so. Since Bartels pulled out of the Buell game (at least their big Buell sign is gone), it's tough to find a demo, and I don't know anybody that'll part with one for a day or put me on their spare to join up for a trip to the Rock Store. So the itch has bitten bad, and I may have to choose between an airplane engine (different itch competing for the same resources) and a Buell. Love the Knowledge Base, and the wealth of information in the posts, especially the ubiquitous TPS reset. If I do get one of these, I'm pretty much counting on no support from the HD dealer 3 miles from my house, so I'll be buying the manual and doing a lot of wrenching myself. Great site! Ride safe, take care -john |

Welcome to the BadWeB! Mel, sounds to me you've got 25 l o n g days to wait. It'll be well worth it, and you'll be in prime riding season. Airplanes or bikes, tough choice. |

Rasta Dog Yep I can remember That's not the worst of it. The 73's all shift on the right and brake on the left. The 75 850 shifts on the left. Starting rituals are a blast too. Tickle the carbs, face towards England say God save the queen, and pray it fires first kick. Norton knee is a wonderful thing, and let's not forget the kick starter kicking back into your foot. I live for that one. Your dad will vouch for me on all of that. (Message edited by exnorton on April 12, 2007) |

I have not been to Germany in nearly 20 years, but I was stationed near Stuttgart back in the 80s. I would not have been able to get to Braschwitz back then. I do remember seeing some nice riding roads in Bavaria near the Austrian border. |
