I went to Farrow's today to sell a coworker a Buell, and they had 2 on the floor. I was there 1 week ago and there were 8.
I asked if they moved them to the warehouse or something, they said "No! They're selling like hot cakes right now!"
They didn't have the one my coworker wants (XB9R) So I asked when they're getting more in, and they said "Not for a long time, we don't sell hardly any of these things".

EXCEPT FOR THE 6+ OVER THE PAST WEEK!

They have a huge ULYSSES banner hanging in the showroom, but no Ulysses, and probably not getting another for awhile.

I think I talked my coworker into a CityX though, which they had one of in the back of the 2nd floor of the warehouse across the street. (Which is where I'd put bikes I want to sell).

Jeesh.

Wow....I was down there a week ago and they had a bunch....I didn't count them but the buell corner by the finance guy was full, sold that many in a week fantastic. Looks like we have some more local brothers.

It is frustrating not having a better local alternative.

Nice job Mike bring another to the breed.

2 days ago he was hooked on finding a Gixxer. Now he is completely addicted to Buells.

hehehehehe

I wished he would've mentioned it a week ago, since the Demo fleet was at the north location last weekend!

I have yet to go to the new location. They're both owned by Farrow's, so wouldn't you think that they would have the invintory for both locations infront of them when they told us "we don't have the bike you want, and we're not getting it. Can I show you any other bikes?"

I go to the local dealership where I have been trying to get a job and they're giving them away, I tell the owner every time I go in there that I can sell them. They are doing gimmick after gimmick to sell and they're not really selling. They are doing a Sport Bike Night. Last night they had a twisties challenge so they could show off the Buells and get people interested. "We want to show them how a Buell can do in the twisties, and they'll want to buy a Buell." They then proceed to open up their Dyno to a drag race setup. Get this, they want to see who can get to 150 m.p.h. first. Hey MORON, A BUell won't go 150, only about 135ish. Idiots

I am sure the staff is the same....attitude seems different. One of the clothing gals commented on my buell shirt in a positive manner. They still didn't have any but it was a start.

Give the boys in Piqua a call, Nice bunch. They even had some parts in stock, I was impressed.

Mike do hang out at any of the local bike nights?

I plan on going to Quaker steak a few times.
Any I should be going to?

Farrow's says they are hiring in many different positions. I was going to post this separetly, but this is fine too.

I'm considering applying there. I have great people skills, and have experience in sales. I also have schooling in automotive mechanics (it relates) and service advising.
No college degree as of yet. No preference as to a position (sales, parts, service) I just want a job that I can move up in, and make a career out of. The job I have now has nowhere to go above where I'm at.

Anyone have thoughts or comments?

The problem with making a hobby a job is that it becomes a job. I did that with BBQ, I started catering and stopped enjoying it. You may not tire of Harley Davidson, only you will know. Go talk to them, Nothing ventured, right?

I have been known to frequent whiskey dicks on Thursday night. I have met some non-biker friends at the Hooters on Main St and the one on Rome Hilliard road on Sunday mid afternoon.

A friend had his bike stolen at Quaker steak, Some sort of a screaming eagle special edition, I don't know exactly what it was but he was impressed with it and enjoyed it. I don't like parking on that access road. Weeble has been there but I have not connected with him. Not sure where wolf hangs out.

I know, that's why I was thinking of staying away from the mechanic side of things, and getting into Sales more.

If you want to ride, don't work at a Dealer.

ARG!

Then help me find a new job! I want lots of money, hardly any work, plenty of time to ride, have fun, and not deal with stupid people.

Like that job exists!

Hey lost-I can walk to that hooters, shoot something next time yer there. I don't go out much, but haven't been there ever.
AD to me is getting better, as before all they wanted to tell me about was how I should be turning my bike into a mutant, but I haven't been to the new store yet. Amazes me how Harley can complain about Honda when Honda has three stores in the area and HD had five...

You sure the dealer you went to didn't just "sell" them to the other branch, I know car dealers in Europe do that to move the figures around for the taxman.

mike, if the store up there is anything like where my daughter works, just go into parts for right now. you get commission on everything you sell then get familiar with the sales part of it. right now she got moved up to doing inventory control and she is supposed to start learning parts next week. she really likes her job and she gets a lot of respect for what she has brought to the store. being down here, they aren't allowed to take time off for bikeweek or biketoberfest, which to me is a wasted of time anyhow.

The Dayton dealer generally has a few Buells in stock and has always been cool about test rides with me if your buddy wants to ride both an R and an S before deciding.

If we go to Hooters once a month and talk about Buells, I think that would be the start to a Buell Owners Group in Columbus.

Most people in motorcycle sales wont take vacation during riding season and they almost never have 2 days off in a row. Any time they do go on a ride with the "group" they get hammered with,

"Whats my bike worth?"
"Whats wrong with my bike?"
"What about me me me me and my bike?"

What should have been a good ride turns into a suck fest. IMHO

A lot of these guys have that happen, too. I keep my bike filthy...the only comment I get is "what happened to your bike?"
