Nice pics! I love those helmet shots. Were you zoomed in that tight, or are those just close crops? |

Sanchez, These are just close crops. To see the full frame photos go to my site. Enjoyed your photos also. I saw you got a photo of me on the porch at TWO. You could have told me I would have sucked my gut in. For those who would like to order prints. Email me at mjrphoto@optonline.net Mike Long Island, NY 06 XB12X Black of course |

This is the first chance I've had to post since the weekend. I never met a cooler bunch of people than I did at this years event. It seems Buell riders are all slightly eccentric to begin with, so all the better that the most enthusiastic and rabid ones all converge in the same spot on the same weekend. I have memories that will be burned in my brain forever. I wish I could say something that would include everyone I met, but it would be impossible. In the 4 days I spent there, I rode the best and the worst I ever have in 31 years. My 'best' was better than I ever expected a rider of my limited natural skill could ever achieve, and my 'worst' only hurt my ego (this time). The time off the bike was just as fun as the riding with such interesting and friendly people attending. It was a weekend to remember. It was a time I'll always remember. The best part is that it will stay with me forever. I came really expecting a lot this year, and I got more than I could ever hope for... I wish everything could be like that. See you all next year, Danny |

Danny, I had a great time blasting up Blood Mountain! We'll have to do that again next year! I will also never forget looking in my mirror and saying to myself: "WTF?? Is that an M2 behind me?!!" I hope you had as much fun as I did. For a local I tried to give you a nice run, thankfully there was NO traffic heading north. Wish we could have got that run on camera, oh well, that's what next year is for! |

And thanks for the lock bar Danny! Now that I know what it is! That was a very gracious and special thing to do. I hope your buddy over playing in the sandbox enjoys his presents! |

Djkaplan Anytime my friend. I look forward to seeing that M2 hustling around the loop again soon! I may not have seen all of the slips and such, but Dan buddy, you were ripping the hell outta that bike. I'm sure Rossi and Hayden probably felt the same way at some point. The only way to go faster is to learn, and there isn't anywhere else I would rather learn that here! Thanks for the good times! I will remember that forever as well! Smokescreen |

I will also never forget looking in my mirror and saying to myself: "WTF?? Is that an M2 behind me?!!" That run was absolutely the fastest and best I've ever ridden in my life, Phil. I took an earlier run up Blood Mountain that day and thought I had set a personal best as far as smoothness hitting the apexes just right. On that run, I was able to slowly outpace the group and arrive solo at the top of the mountain. I was feeling pretty self-satisfied until the next ride, when you broke away from the group and I followed. That run with you really raised my eyes to the fact that I wasn't nearly as fast or smooth as I thought I was. What you couldn't see in your rear-view mirror was the wobbling, sliding, blown apexes, crossing the double yellow, and the futility of trying to hang with you on the corners you really had dialed. Like I said earlier when I didn't know you were right next to me, "I was riing over my head to keep up with Phil...". The only goal I had was to enter the parking lot not too far behind you. It wasn't pretty, but I got more out of that run than you'll ever imagine. Thanks for giving an ego boost and moto-validation to an old(er) man, Smokescreen. That run up Blood Mountain was a defining moment in my motorcycling life. It was a pleasure to be shown the fast way up the mountain by a real hotshot. |

"And thanks for the lock bar Danny!" That turned out really well. Everyone was generous to a fault with that deal. Not all the lock-bars were taken, but I got enough in donated money to completely cover the cost of the clothing we sent to Afghanistan. I had hoped to chat with you more Dan, maybe I'll get a chance before MB5 on some weekends with the 3%'ers. I'm going to thank her properly in another thread, but Kristi (Ulywife) really did the footwork and labor with the lockbar deal. It was a generous offer to help so I could go out and play all weekend with the boys and girls. And a special thanks to SMHD and Buell for letting us use the demo table for this. Kristi, you were magnificient and I owe you some good karma. |

Ah, crap.... I completely forgot about the lockbars. I guess I was having too much fun. Well, next time you send out a care package, let me know and I will gladly give a donation! |
