i am still looking around at some 2pc leathers. problem is most the stuff i find i dont think will fit right. i am 6'1" 155/160pnds. between 38/40 chest, 29/30 waist. the inseam on most of the pants that are to go with the 2pc suits that size are about 31" thats just dumb. i wear like a 34 atleast so when i bend my leg my pants dont come half way up my calf. they keep telling me that to need 34.5 pant length i should be 6"6" about 240. hmm, man i must be a mess. so i guess to get to the point, how do some of yours fit that have had a similar problem. i guess the boots would cover some of that discrepency in length, but 3-4 inches? |

I'm a bit on the "Husky" side. And I dont fit in normal suits. I just called up new enough told them my specs and they suited me up $430 shipped for 2pc sport perf leather suit. Love it. They have great Customer service and a great return policy. They have a "Hard to fit" section on their website http://www.newenough.com/ |

Vanson will make your leathers to fit YOU. They are a bit pricey but worth the money. I am about your same size and wear an Alpinestars suit size 42. It is a little snug but not so much as to cause discomfort. |

I highly recommend NJKLEathers.com Kelcey Gordon is a great guy and his stuff is top notch. In the custom leathers section, you can send him your dimentions and have a complete custom one or two piece suit made for $1,150. The Road racing suit starts at $1150 and include the following: - Fully armored knees, shoulders, and elbows. - Soft pads backed with leather in hips, tailbone, and shins. - Two ply leather in knees, shoulders, elbows, and seat. - Extensive Kevlar stretch paneling in crotch, underarms, and behind legs. - “Accordion” stretch panels in lower back, and above knees. - Kevlar neck with soft polar fleece lining. - Built in poly/nylon lining. - Brass YKK zippers throughout. - Velcro loop knee sliding circles, and knee sliders. - 1 piece configuration Additional options include perforation, zipper venting, lettering, design, aerodynamic hump, additional Kevlar and accordion stretch panels, and two piece configuration. |

well i have been looking at a teknic lightning 2 pc. i can get it through work for aBOUT $480. figured i'd have to go with a 40 or 42, i would rather have the pants a little short and get covered by boots than have the coat be huge and balloon when i ride. i can also get a set by made to ride(M2R). through another distributor. from what i am reading it has the same basic armor and alot of the same features. although the teknic system does have a little more as far as options it comes standered with. i can also get it in the regular kind of shiny black or a flat black for about $375 through work. i know you get what you pay for to an extent, but if i have to spend $800 + what i get will be ZERO because i just cant swing it. i have gotten by with what i have which is my leather harley coat and chaps. no matter what anyone says i know it is better than my other current option which is a pair of jeans. i am hoping to swing something before riding season really kicks in (Message edited by no_rice on April 03, 2007) |

What? No chaps during homecoming this year? It was funny watching you run through those corners outside of Road America with chaps But I'm with you. Spending less than $500 for something "close enough", is better than not having anything. |

I got the Alpinestars track pants in the tall size for a track day this last month. Everybody seems to charge $380 for them but I got a deal on a couple year old jacket from maw online for about $180 so it didn't kill me too bad for the pair. Long legs - regular torso but with long arms, and I always have trouble finding clothing that fits. |

No Rice, us skinny guys have a hard time finding stuff that fits us. Maybe see if you can find some discount European made leathers. U.S. manufactures tend to cater to the typical U.S. build. My Sgt kept telling me last year to check out Dianesse, said they are made for a less American build (read McDonald's fed). I ended up getting seperate Joe Rocket pieces that fit okay but in my case had to get bigger waisted pants to fit my legs (bicycle). have heard good things about these guys : http://www.canyonchasers.net/reviews/clothing/zero -60-suit.php I have been told the same about the pants as you. If you have sport riding boots you don't need extra length, they'll just be inside the boot anyway and you don't need extra leather inside a well made sporting boot, it should be protection enough. Makes sense to me. Good luck. |

IME the sizing on Teknic is on the short & stubby side. A 56 Dainese or Alpinestars suit is perfect for me but a 56 Teknic has room for another person inside, and the legs and arms are ludicrously short. |

No_rice, Alpinestars makes their track pants in tall sizes. The tall sizes add 2 inches to the inseam on any given size pant. |

I have the same long and lanky problem. If your as long as inseam as I (34) it seems most leather crafters think I must be 50' around, I'm 30'. My solution was Alpinestars. http://www.syedleathers.com/ is where I'll get my custom suit. They do excellent work. While I've not had a suit made by them yet, they have done repairs for me. The repairs have been so good, that you really have to look hard to find the repair. Shred had a repair done to his Joe Rocket suit, after the EMS cut it off of him. If you were at MB-IV you saw Shred in his repaired Joe Rocket. |

No_Rice, check these out. http://www.newenough.com/protective_apparel/leathe r_jackets_and_pants/alpinestars/track_leather_moto rcycle_sport_pants.html It might be a little more expensive but Alpinestars makes nice stuff. Those Track Pants come in Tall sizes and they will mate up with most Alpinestars jackets with the full waist zipper. I have the Stage jacket which works perfectly with the Track Pants. |

Check out the manufacture's website you like first. I bet they will have "tall" sizes. |

No way, they are on the thin side IMO. I had a Teknic two piece in my size (per their advertised specs, anyway). I'm 5'8" and 175lbs. The top fit like a glove (and I still wear it), but the pants would only go about halfway up my thighs! In my case, an AGV fit almost perfectly, top and bottom. I searched around to find out what kind of fitment issues people were having with different brands. Most people complained that AGV's were made for people with big stubby limbs. Perfect! |

No-Rice You might want to check jamin leather out http://www.jaminleather.net/products.asp?dept=199 I ordered a coat and leather overpants but I was a little sceptical of the quality and thickness - I half expected to send them back. I was pleasantly surprised. They are at least as heavy as the Buell brand leather jacket I have. There is NO armor and they do run on the small side but with the money you save ($150ish for the jacket, $100 for the pants) on the leather you could easily pick up a set of armored undershirt / shorts and still be ahead for the $$. Just a suggestion. |

I ordered a set of leather pants from them for street riding and the crotch ripped after a few months. They don't sell anything I'd trust for track use. Their stitching and construction isn't up to snuff to anything designed for sport riding use. |

I've got a pair of Frank Thomas trousers that I've had for years & they're great. As for leg length, you don't want the leg too long inside a riding boot or it'll chafe your ankle bones where it gets nipped in by the boot. And yes European sizes are a lot less (how to put this delicately) generously cut. That said there are variations, French & Italian cuts are generally slimmer than British or German. (must be all the beer & pies!) Most Jackets & trousers have compatible joining zips in the back. If you can, go with your bike to try stuff on sitting on it, there's nothing worse than spending a rake of cash on gear only to find, it doesn't fit on the bike, like, it's choking you when you lean over the tank or nipping your unmentionables when you try to swing a leg over.
