Finally mounted S3 bags on my M2 and the brackets used to hold the saddle bag bracket to the frame has lifted the seat up so that seat bolt won't catch the seat. Is there a longer seat bolt available? Or a lesser known quick fix besides a cargo net to the frame. Thanks!! |

I will try to get pictures posted. What I did was make 'L' brackets out of some 1/8th inch stock that had been pre-drilled with square holes so I used carriage bolts anticipating the rise after I put the plastics back on. The difference can't be more than 1/4 to 3/8 an inch. Just checking to see if there is a longer seat bolt out there. Or if anyone has any helpful hints. Thanks!! |

the new frame is contacting the seat pan right? Why not try to trim that area of the seat pan, so that it sits flush with teh plastics??? Chase |

Dremels are great for that. I put blue chalk on the contact points for the frame and plastic and put the seat down and Dremeled until the chalk was gone. Will try again. And actually the frame is fine, its just that the plastics got pushed up or raised enough for the seat screw or bolt to be too short. |

are you sure you put the plates at the right elevation? If you set the plates just right the plastic fits just like stock.how did you make out with the tail piece? can you take a pic?If you want I can take a pic and try to post to show you how it really does fit. Jeff |

On my S3 the brackets mount to the back of the license frame and the foot pegs. Nothing to get between the frame and body work. Joe |

Jeff, a picture is worth a 1000 words!! If you can, please do!! The tail piece of the M2 had to be modified to accept the tail piece of the S3 bracket. Still enough to fit and keep the original M2 look. Joe=> The tail section on the M2 is shorter than the S3 and has nothing to mount that section to. So I mounted that S3 tail section to the S3 bag bracket, thus I needed to secure the top of the bag bracket to the frame under the plastics and seat bringing me the issue mentioned above...Will try to get pictures taken this weekend and then get them posted will be the trick. Thanks for all the help and suggestions!! Michael |

I didn't use the stock 'tailpiece',I made a piece of steel fit with a polished piece of aluminum round stock to use as a seperater. It is also removable incase the need arises to go naked. Also removed the stock blinkers and used a plate holder with blinkers incorporated. Can you take a pic with the plastic off or is it to late? Talk to ya Jeff |

The seat issue has been solved=>I think. I just Dremeled the the seat pan contact points and the bracket bolt heads until the seat screw would catch. Thanks to everybody for the help and suggestions!! Michael |
