I installed my race ECM and Drummer tonight. When I tried to connect the VDSTS to it to do the TPS reset, at first it connects and then when I switch to the active test screen it disconnects and won't reconnect. The ECM works because I can start the bike if I hold the throttle open a little. What am I doing wrong connecting to the Race ECM? I had no problems doing my stock ECM TPS reset. Any help is appreciated. |

I had the same problem, and it was due to the port converter I was using. It worked for other things, but not VDSTS. |

I've had similar issues, even with the special USB-serial dongle they suggest. The 3.0 beta version works like a charm for me. FYI. |

Did the ECM selection Have the keyspan adapter All works fine with the Stock ECM as I did try again. I'll try the 3.0 beta |

3.0 beta no change. Something wrong with the connection part of the Race ECM or is it still a software issue? |

Can you get the live data (gauges) screen to work and connect? |

If I connect the stock ECM is says connected 5hz I think. So I connected it back did a TPS reset on it and got it running and everything set right. Put the Race ECM in and the bike starts and idles and all the live data will work when running on the race ECM. The connected only says 1 hz or 0hz though. Of course the TPS is reading wrong too. If I shut the bike back off and try to do the TPS reset it goes back to not connecting. |

Did you do this (from the technoresearch website FAQ)? Go to: All programs then Keyspan USB Serial Adapter. Run the Keyspan Serial Assistant. Under Port Mapping set the Transmit Completion Timing Advance to: Faster & Receive FIFO Buffer Size to 63. You might want to reboot the computer afterwards. At least one person changed FIFO buffer size (on a native serial port, not with keyspan) and found that rebooting made it work better. Al |

I all ready had it set to the Faster and 63. I think what you said about the Race ECM with the weaker drivers (in the other forum) is the key. It connects to the stock ECM without issue and works great. It just won't stay connected to the race ECM at all. How exactly do I exchange a race ECM? I can't exactly tell them it won't connect to VDSTS can I? Any ideas what to do with it? Al, can you upgrade the drivers with a flash so it works better? |

I'll talk to Technoresearch tomorrow. Stay tuned. There is not a flash upgrade that I'm aware of. The only way that cable dongle firmware has been updated in the past is by sending the cable to TR. I can't do it. Al |
