Me... love those things....

I would personally prefer the street rod...IF it were in black... the mid controls, with the forward pegs is a great combo....

Well just a short couple weeks ago I was thinking a whole different thing.... like a GSXR. But as I looked at this on a show room floor I'm getting second thoughts. I've been talk'n to the wife and my XB is paid for and hers by this coming winter. She say's by a V-Rod. So next year this time I think I just may. I love the flat black look of the night Rod.

Believe it or not, Harley developed that flat look to be cheaper to paint than gloss. I too like it, wish Buell offered it.

My next bike is a VRSCX

A V-Rod is my next bike. I love them. Have rented them, have buddies that have them. I did sit on that night rod at the show and didn't care for the feel of that particular model. But over all I LOVE V-RODS!!

I was in San Diego this past summer and rented one (all the sportbikes were taken, it was during the GP week), and all I thought the whole time was this thing is scary. Front end wobbles all over at highway speeds, and the front forks nearly bottom out with every stop. The first thing I did when I got to my buddies was look for any type of adjustment to the suspension - Nothing. And the next morning of course a nice puddle of oil. All with maybe 8000 miles. I scraped the pipes all over the roads out there too and I thought I was being VERY conservative, as I am not used to foot forward motoring. Nice power though. And indeed great looking as far as cruisers go.

Looking back at that pic though those pipes look much higher than the one I was on.

I like the Road Rod package that http://www.cyclevisions.com/roadrod.html
does.

Prices are a little high for the bracketry, but a neat concept non the less.

It was hard this year deciding between my XBRSTT project, and just buying a Vrod Street Rod... I really liked that bike.

Include me as a V-Ron fan! I test rode a black and silver Street Rod last year. The mechanic that rode it out from the garage said I was the first customer/rider! If my memory is working...(maybe!) there was about 60-70 miles on the odo... Tight suspension, no bottoming, no scraping the pegs... Lots of power everywhere. Ya hafta keep the revs up compared to a std HD. I knew I could (can) live with one. They're sellin' new Street Rods for $11,990.00 local. Not a bad price... ya, I'm a fan.

They don't work very well for conditions here.
Lean angles are inadequate for the twisty roads.
A Street Rod however....double

If I had to pick a H/D, a V-Rod would be the bike. I've actually lurked a dealership or two since I've been riding and this is the only bike I looked at each time. I'd imagine I'll eventually want something more comfortable for longer trips and am torn between a muscle bike like this or a sport tourer. I've noticed that on the 300+ mile trips, my knees and hands really start to ache on the Buell. I've been thinking about riding from Houston to Denver to go see my sis this summer, but I don't know if I could make the 1200 mile trip on what I've got in reasonable comfort. I'm thinking maybe if I go with a hydraulic clutch, go back to stock footpegs, and soften the suspension for long trips I'd probably be more comfortable.

You will be fine with what you got...

I used to ride my 748 from Virginia Beach to Boston every weekend... then, when I got the X1, I used that, it had Crossroads bars, and rear sets...still has the rearsets...

Anyway, as long as your ergo's are good... its all up to YOU...

at least in MY humble opinion...

It's not often you see two biker dudes crouching behind a v-rod(or derivative of) doing nothing other than getting a pic in front of a couple of manatees!: )

I think the bikes are great, and wish the used that motor in something other than that chassis. Meaning a lot of people won't accept them, for a. doesn't sound like a harley. b. doesn't look like a harley.

I've had two friends sell theirs because of this.

Doesn't sound like a harley?? There's a guy I ride with occasionally that has the baffles taken out of his A model vrod. That thing is probably the single best sounding motorcycle exhaust I've ever heard. Very staccato, sweet tone. Not ear splittingly loud but you aren't going to ignore it either.

I love the vrod. That will definitely be the second bike in my stable. I just can't decide between the nightrod or the streetrod.

actually we were putting in a new fuel pump, which is under the seat on that. the thing had like 50 miles on it and the fuel pump gave out. it sucked. i had been up for over 3 days when that pic was taken and was still going, it was about 2 hours after we got to daytona... and that one sounds like a dragster running. man it sounds wicked with the pipes we made for it!

Oh yeah, I'm a V-Rod fan. I actually started another thread in this forum about the Nightrod Special.
Of course, being a fan of the V-Rod and an owner are two entirely different things. I'm not sure when I'll be able to scarf up the extra bucks for one of those, but I sure would love one alongside my Firebolt. I keep telling myself, "resale value -go for it!"
The fact that many air-head harley riders turn their thumbs down to a Rod makes it all the more sweeter.

I'm currently a v-rod rider as I wait for my new XB12R later this month. Nothing like loaning out my dads $30K bike while I wait for my $10K bike. I guess it will have to do for now. The older v-rods have too small a fuel tank, have to stop about every 100 miles, the '07 fixed that problem though. I am a fan of the VRSCX, that's the one I'd buy.

I love the V-Rod looks, but it's a bit heavier than what I'd want to manage. If I was gonna buy a H-D cruiser, I'd probably wind up with a Sportster 1200R, and give it the race treatment.

Actually, I'd probably buy a used Lightning and one of Bryan Fuller's Fueller frames and make my own.

Never been fan of the V-rod. I think I would have issues with handling and lean angle. Nothing about the styling has ever made me want to own one.

Would like to ride one, though, to see if it changes my mind.

I tried out a V-Rod as I was tired of the stock Harley cruiser look and had yet to discover Buell. It was a fun, fast ride although I scraped pegs a lot. They'll heavy, but I could own one.

I'd rather buy a Sportster and throw money at it until it's as fast as a stockish V-Rod, and handles as well as an 80's superbike . They are, for the most part, great looking bikes.

My buddy just got one and is talking smack. How fast are they? Can they outrun a XB12S? I know I can loose him in the corners, he wont even try it. How about a straight line?

Nah, I think he's a bit put upon by Yankee fans, & his communication with Jeter could be better, but he's not a bad player, not worth those millions though.

Oh, I'm sorry...did you say Vee Rod?...ok well excuse me, gotta go now...........
