I have a tall windshield on my ULY and the left side mirror rests against the shield so I tie-wrapped a piece of black sponge foam around the mirror stalk to cushion it from the shield. It is pretty close to perfectly clear on the highway. The shield is handlebar mounted and is the modified C-Bailey with SlipStreamer rod supports that I've shown before on BadWeb. The right side mirror is a bit further out on the handlebar so it isn't quite contacting the windshield and so it vibrates and is blurry. I'll be moving the right side mirror to be against the shield like the left side mirror so that both will give better rear vision. I'm not exaggerating about the difference in clarity. It's not perfect but very close. Blurry mirrors are a pain so I thought I should pass this along. Not pretty but it sure works.

Not that your trick-foam-wad mod doesn't look terrific, but I might also suggest weighted bar ends to reduce fuzzing.

Fubar: Which weighted bar ends do you use? |

Verrry interesting. I have them and they didn't clear up the mirror vibration at all. I was on a solo ride and did a before and after test. Almost seemed like less vibration without the bar end weights but certainly no more. Wonder what's up. |

That is wacky. Mine worked great. Nearly clear at "normal" freeway speeds. |
