I need some Input here guys! I have the choice here of building my motor. Stock D cams or S/E 536.. I have Thunderstorm heads & 10-1 Thunderstorm pistons... I dont think the valve springs are strong enough for the 536 cams and I have a set of stock D cams.. I want just a reliable Hwy running motor.. Thus, what ta do????/ Your views Please!!!! unless you at least strengthen the valve train, and get head work intake exhaust etc. than i would stick with the stock cams, i have some top-end work, open exhaust, race ignition w/k&n and i still have stock cams and i'm very happy with them, when i get the heads done with bigger valves then i'm going with the .536 jobbies! |

i was checking to see what kind of bike you had and noticed your profile says you have n8's. are you unhappy with them? they are a little more racey than the d cams (stock on m2 and s2 too i think). |

I thought the thunderstorm heads came with heavier valve springs. I'd run the 536s, if that's the case. I have over 50K on the 536s in my RS. |

do not run 536's with thunderstorm heads unless you have headwork, run the stock thunderstorm cams, which i belive are 497's |
