Yes, it'll work, and you won't need to worry about a spring compressor. What you will need to worry about is a method of measuring the level of the fork oil - a new welding rod and one of those mini-flashlight with a flexible neck will do nicely.

when you measure the fork oil, spring and spacer are not in the tube. Is the lower(where brake mounts) and the fork tube compressed together, and the damper rod pushed down? The manual really isnt clear about the fork being in full compressing and damper rod pushed down into lower tube. Then you measure level to top of fork tube?
