I have a '06 XB12R and put a open airbox kit on it with a airbox cover that has scoops on it. Then I made a custom stainless oval exhaust that has no baffling. I bought a new race ecm and was talking to the service department at Harley and they said that the bike will run to lean. Which is understandable, but what can I do to remap the fuel curves. Can this be done on a race ecm or do I have to go with the DirectLink system? Please help!!!!

Direct-link. Or you could try the race ECM and run it on a dyno to see what the fuel curve looks like. You may consider it close enough.

Direct Link only. Period. The Race ECM is very picky, it doesn't run well with 99% of the aftermarket exhausts, let alone a homemade jobber with no back pressure. DL your stock ecm, Al and others can do their maps but because you have special exhaust, you should probably have the bike dyno tuned.

Should I remap the stock ecm or race ecm because I have both. But if there is no advantage I will use the stock and remap it and sell the race one.

If you use the stock ecm you will need an exhaust servo emulator to avoid the check engine light.

If you use the race ecm you will not need an emulator since the race ecm doesn't require a signal from the servo. In fact it doesn't have any provisions for the servo at all from what I hear.

if your wanting to save money then sell the Race ECM ($150 - $200) buy the emulator for $45. (very small and plugs right in hidden under the seat).

You are probably better off keeping the race ECM, dumping your home build exhaust and investing in a drummer. At least that way you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle with dyno's.
