Just spent some quality time with the KV and did find what I was really looking for. I have my 99 S3 apart and wonder what it would take to upgrade the alternator to a higher capacity. Has anybody use XB stator and rotor on the XL motor? |

See The Bad Weather Bikers' Buell Motorcycle Enthusiasts' Discussion Forum » Old School Buell » Archives OSB 001 » Archive through January 17, 2006 » Follow Up On S3T Alternator Upgrade There's a previous to this, but I couldn't find it quickly. This at least answers your question. |

Thanks roger that gets me headed in a direction. Have you made this mod? I would assumes a new voltage regulator would be required because of the 3 phase windings. |

Can't imagine how you could do it without also replacing the voltage regulator... but that would be simple enough. |
