Did Kevin start making them with a mute button? I have the regular drummer, and I would say its a low smooth rumble but far from quiet.

I have one; it is quieter. I like the sound and the performance is there. If you were wonder about early morning commuting and waking your neighbors, sorry I can’t help you there, since I don’t have any neighbors that live close. The power band is smooth all the way through. I am sure if you contact Kevin he will be very helpful.

How does the Drummer Quiet compare to stock (noise wise)? Is it made from stainless steel?

I just checked Kevin's website.I seen:

the orginal

the econo

the SS (stainless steel)

and the CF (carbon fiber)
.

.
.
.
No quiet.

Did I miss something?

There is no Drummer "quiet". Kevin made a few Drummer "loud" versions for folks who insisted on making noise. He just left the fiberglass out of them. We don't recommend it. If he ever made a quieter version, he never told me about it and therefore it wouldn't show up on our website (since I'm the webmasterbater among other things). He's off racing again, but I'll ask him this weekend.

The entire Drummer product is reasonably quiet. It's a lower frequency thump that isn't quite as annoying as a higher pitched crack & pop. I've run them all and never had an altercation.

Kevin does make a quiet, I talked with him on Wednesday. I believe there is an extra chamber in it(you would have to ask him how he does it). I did a search and a few guys do have them and are happy with them. It won't be as quiet as a stock pipe by any means, but it will be a little quieter than a normal Drummer. I am not looking for a real loud pipe, so I think it will work. BTW, Kevin was great to deal with, I should(hopefully) have it in a week and a half or two.

I just spoke to Kevin about it and he did indeed make a couple of quieter mufflers based on the original design. He built them as a special request. They are not a standard product and I've not made drawings of that version.

Jasont,

Sorry I didn't get back to post sooner. It seems that my earlier response created some what of a fuss. Oh well. Anyway, yes, I have a quiet Drummer. When I originally spoke with Kevin (many years back now), we just got talking about the sound level between the Drummer and the Race muffler, and he suggested making my Drummer a bit quieter than the standard Drummer, and I agreed. It is quieter than the race muffler; it has a good rumble, just right. Oh yeah, and it does increase the HP.

Even though I haven’t spoken to Kevin in quite some time, I knew he would treat you right.

Take care, and be aware when riding.

I just spoke to Kevin and he is making me a Drummer in the near future. He agreed there was some things he could do to make the pipe a little quieter than the standard mod. I didn't ask him for the technical details. I live on a cul-de-sac with lots of little kids in the neighboring houses. Don't want to wake them all up at 6 am when I'm leaving for work. Need to keep the peace with the neighbors and the wife. We'll see how it works out.
