I'm ridding my Black XB of all gold items and was wondering what all different colors of airbox lettering were made over the years that I could still order from the dealer. I'm thinking Red or Silver maybe, but want to see all options... there aren't many Buells in my area for me to look at in person unfortunately. I prefer the style that is on my bike ('06 XB12SS) that says "American Motorcycles" underneath. Got any pics handy?? Thanks! |

I had my letters custom made from the originals at a local sign shop. I paid about $35 to have them done and installed. White on the 05 9R, Red on the 07's. Silver on the Black 03 9S. I can't remember the rest off the top of my head. Good luck |

my new black '07 lid came with black lettering. way cooler than the old amber ones. i did the same and rid the bike of all amber... almost before even riding it! BLACK ON BLACK. thats my vote |

Thanks for the posts so far, anyone have a closeup pic of the lettering on a yellow XB? From a far away pic that looks like it might be what I'm looking for |

All these pics are from the '07 IMS Show in DC. Yellow 12R
Red 9R
And my personal favorite: Black 12R
There may be more colors for '07, I'm not sure... 1313 |

Check my profile pic. I do not know what they are from, but a local Buell place stocks the sticker. |

I posted a pic of my airbox graphic a while back. Here's a link: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/83479.html There is a set of Chrome letters there too I believe. Kaveman |

I don't get the new BUELL logo design on the airbox. Does anyone know how it came about? The two tone one is ok, but the cuts on the solid ones...I don't get it. |

I initially thought the cutouts were supposed to be an open highway, but on further investigation, it's actually an embossed version of the "slashes" found on the '06 Lightning decals. It is kinda' weird... I wonder what the significance is, if any? (here are the slashes...)

Great observation! I totally missed that. I've often wondered about those lines. |

Anyone have a lead on Silver tank stickers? I want to say 06 or 07? |

The B&W pic I posted above is actually silver... slightly metallic silver, very fine grain. It's for the 2006 Ss. It comes with a Sunset Orange underline piece, but it's separate from the text. Part number is M0750.1ANYZ, and they're $15 each (just ordered 2 yesterday). ~SM |

Snowhownd, What's funny is that I am looking to pick up the Gold Lettering for the Airbox. Anyone know the part numbers? |

how are people removing the stickers on the bikes. I want to get rid of all stickers but not have the mark or where my sticker was at |

I used a hairdryer and my hands to pull the decal off. Clean up the left over adhesive with some Goo-Gone. I found with just a little heat most of the adhesive came off with the sticker - too much heat and more was left behind... you can experiment. Once you get them off all you have to do is polish the airbox up with some plastic polish (just like if you got a scratch on there) and it will polish right out so you can't even tell the decal was ever there. |
