Hallo. I have a problem with my new Hawker Odyssey PC 545MJ. When I got it from the dealer,it only had a voltage of 12,55 V. Referring to the information from the Hawkers manual, that indicates that this battery was stored for at least two years. Anyway,I tried to recharge the battery with a Ctek XS 3600 which is recommend to be a good charger for AGM batteries using a special program. I could bring up the voltage to 12.75V, but even with this nominal 90 per cent voltage, the battery is not able to crank my Buell. Not even once! On the other hand,I have no problem to crank the bike with my 3 years old Varta LF battery from my Sportster. The Hawker drops almost .04V each day, even when it is not connected to the bike or any other user. This is opposite to anything that I read about Odysseys.Actually they are well known for their long shelf life, without any charging. Was this battery old? What is your suggestion to solve the problem? Ralph (Message edited by xldevil on March 06, 2007) |
