Duc, I doubt there will be a problem wrt inspection stickers. There is no vehicle inspection in Georgia, except for car's emissions inspections, and even then there's no sticker. I know little about Murphy, not enough to help you with hotels or anything like that. It's an hour or so from T.W.O. I believe. Small town in the foothills. |

Murphy, NC is a nice, smallish, town with several motels and restaurants surrounded by hilly terrain. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there. It's a short and scenic run to the Dragon and to Suches. |

I asked a friend at work to make up some vinal pegasus stickers for the event. He'll have em in 3", 5" 8" 12" sizes in Black, silver and white. He said he'd make a few back window sized ones if there is enough interest. Ping me if anyone wants a special size/color. Frank |

Who wants a complimentary clutch/rotor lockbar? I have some 1/4" thick aluminum drops from a project at work. I can shear them into 4" lengths and bring them Saturday if anyone wants one. I have enough material for 10-12 lockbars right now. Here's what the deal is though... I'm sending a care package to some friends of mine stationed in Afghanistan. If you want a lockbar, I will be accepting whatever you want to donate to help with the shipping (not much). It's just the aluminum material, btw. You'll have to round the edges yourself with a handfile (very easy, not a problem). If anyone is interested, see me on Saturday during MBIV. I can probably make more, if needed, but tell me now! |

Care package ideas? I've heard talk of beef jerky, baby wipes, magazines and candy. Anything else you would suggest? Of course $$ to help with the shipping. We could probably set up a Care Package Box at the BadWeb tent. I'll drop you a PM. Kristi |

"What branch of the service?" Sorry, not jarheads... they're boxheads (Army). One of my best friends is a retired Gunnery Sergeant, though. Gunny and I went to our Army buddy Eric's Blue Cord ceremony before he shipped out. He trains Army personell for combat readiness at Ft Benning, now. Gunny is a typical former Marine. I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. |

"Anything else you would suggest?" That package itself has been aquired. It's a case of XL "BEER" t-shirts from the Cannon Brewpub in Columbus, Georgia. The shirts mimic the "Ranger" logo and are very popular with the GI's around here. The pub is where "The Captain's of Industry" (my delinquent drinking friends) meet for a daily quaff after work. The group itself is actually composed of respected members of the community, but we get to act like bad boys for an hour or two.

Got your name on one, Mikef5000. These lockbars will fit any Buell (Blast and XB's too). I have 15 made and 2 spoken for. I think I can scrounge up the material to make more if need be. |

Thanks for the offer, but the care package itself been procured (case of t-shirts). It's kind of a tradition for soldiers who are patrons of the Cannon Brewpub to take photographs of themselves wearing a Cannon "BEER" t-shirt during their deployment. We hang the pictures on a "Wall of Fame" next to the bathrooms (my photo is acually in the shitter, I kid you not). I'll wear one of the BEER t-shirts to MB so you can see what you're helping us do. I'd like to keep the donations under $5, btw. This is not a 'for profit' deal and I'm not selling anything. I'm just trying to offset the costs for the shirts and shipping. The maximum donation I asked the patrons of the Cannon to give was just $1 (but they didn't get a lockbar!) I just figured this would be win/win for all involved. Oh... and you better believe I'll post a pic of these guys with their BEER shirts on in Afghanistan (if it won't get them in trouble). |

The shirts look like this, except it says "BEER" instead of "RANGER".
As you can imagine... it's very popular with the Army Rangers training in Ft Benning. My buddy Eric left his BEER shirt stateside, so he e-mailed me and asked me to send him one and he'd pay me when he got back. I'm sending him a package of 10 so he can give some to his men. No way I'm letting him pay for any of this. We are also sending a battered "Cannon Brewpub" flag for his men to fly and get a picture of. The deal is that he has to personally return the flag so we can put it on display next to the photos he takes of it with his men. (Message edited by djkaplan on March 05, 2007) |

I hope I didn't step on any toes by soliciting donations on the MB thread. You don't have to donate anything to get a lockbar (it would be appreciated, though). Just let me know if you want one; I'll write your username on it and you can pick it up at MB on Saturday or Sunday before you leave. |

I hope I didn't step on any toes No way. I think the most commonly agreed upon subject around here is an undying support for those serving our country in the Armed Forces. I think having a BadWeB care package contribution at MBIV is a great idea! |

Thanks, man. I think the guys in Afghanistan think that most of us have forgotten them. To a degree, it's true - Iraq gets all the headlines. My friend Eric has served on both fronts now. He's a damn good man, husband, father and soldier (and he rides). Hopefully, he'll get a chance to be here for MB5. |
