I have a leak. It is where the vent oil line's elbow fitting connects to the gearcase cover. I will try to get some pix up. Its #2 in the 03 XB9R service manual page 3-74 Figure 3-112 "Oil Lines and Connections" I cant find any help in he service manual. Should I just replace the elbow? the entire oil line? Any ideas? suggestions? Thanx. |

Elbows like that usually have "pipe thread" on the end that threads into the case. Pipe threads usually require some type of sealant like teflon tape.One and a half wraps should do it. Over torquing a pipe thread can easily crack the piece you're threading into, so check that first. |
