That's right, Buell has announced 12 Track Day events around the country. These events will be operated by Private Track Time and sponsored by Buell, Pirelli, Sentry Insurance, Vanson Leather and local dealers. For those of you in the Milwaukee area, Hal's H-D/Buell will be sponsoring both the June 7th as well as the October 9th event at Road America. When was the last time you got a day of riding at Road America for only $150? Sign up for the limited slots at www.Buell.com. Hope to see some of you there. BudC |

I went to Barber last year and PTT is great. The lunch was good and the staff top notch. I will go again but MBIV is on the same day this year and that is my priority. You do get a lot of track time for your money as well. I did 250+ miles in two days. |

I didn't take ANY chances, signed Sunny and me up for the Willow Springs event in October. They're limiting it to 60 total for each event. 3 classes of 20 I believe. |

Much cheaper and easier to rent a track midweek than on a weekend. What's the difference going to be between beginner and advanced? |

I'm not familiar with Private Track Time, but other organizations usually have more restrictive passing rules for beginners. Having said that, the beginner class is great for individuals that have never ridden on a race track. A word of warning.......It's highly addictive to ride a motorcycle on a race track. |

September 12th at VIR.. I am so there.. as a matter of fact, Bumble Buell looks to be lifting her 'ban' on track riding to go out on this date.. Dang, I hope we have a good number of folks riding this date.. I think it'd be cool if this could become an annual event.. |

Cochise, it is because our event isn't a track day sponsored by Buell. I'm trying to get ours listed on the site. Our dealership is renting the whole track for the weekend and letting Buell owners ride for free. These cost $150 each day to attend I think. It is great to see Buell taking initiative though! Josh |

Three obvious tracks missing are Summit Point, W.V.; AtlantA, Ga; and Jennings, Fl..... If I'm not mistaken, the Buell track days coincide with the AMA Superbike races at those various tracks. So, prepare to be scouted by the likes of Air Jordan |

Just signed up for Mid Ohio in October. Looks like they run 3 groups (novice, intermediate, advanced) and have moderate (not so clear) rules on gear (look reasonably soft for the novice class). And no passing within 6 feet, no stuffing on the corners. Looks like it is open to all brands. Looks very cool, and looks like Buell and other sponsors must be offsetting a good chunk of the cost. Fantastic! |

If in doubt, send them an email to ask. I'm betting they also want full circumference zipper if using 2-piece. |

I suspect next year you'll see far more conflicts. The new and improved Buell PR folks are getting off to a bit of a rocky start (and generating some hilarious stories in the process) but I think their hearts are in the right place. Progress. . . . |

Reinforced synthetic riding suits acceptable for Novice group only unless competition approved Yeah, they will let them on the track until someone goes down, then it is all leather. Last year they said Two pairs of Blue jeans were ok, so a bunch of guys had synthetic gear and after a small lowside they said the gear left a residue on the track and if you did not have leathers you could not ride. A lot of folks were borrowing gear and going home! With that said, Leather is the only way to save your hide anyway. |
