Aeholton, Where the hell have you been? Been around. Had PRK laser eye surgery a couple of weeks ago and I'm still kind of blurry. Makes reading posts kind of difficult. |

Aeholton, Welcome back! You have been missed! I don't think I have read a header wrap or RSS thread in at least a month! |

I don't think I have read a header wrap or RSS thread in at least a month! Well...it actually got cold here in FL last week and I considered unwrapping the headers to create a little more heat while riding. However, it's a lot of work re-wrapping for just a week of winter. |

Recall applies to 06 and 07 Uly's made between March 24, 2005 and October 5, 2006. Thanks, then I know a bit more. Mine's made in Aug 05, so I guess I'll have my local dealer look at it.} |

Have Two Uly's on the floor that have customers names, parts coming, and riding weather here, that I can't let leave the door yet, till BAS relocation is satisfied... It would be nice if they send the kits BEFORE they made the announcement. On bikes on the road, I have called or chatted to my riders and only one has had an issue with any runnability BAS issues... Frustrating to say the least. |

A manufacturer does not have the luxury of deciding when to put out a recall. Once they determine the need for a recall they must issue it or be liable for any damage or death caused by it. Imagine Enron, but instead of your money, it is your life. |

Called my dealer today, explained everything as I have read here, and all I got was typical BS. They said I have to drop my bike off and then they will order the part. They claimed there is no such thing as wave shipments. |

honu a wave shipment is the term hd and buell uses when they under estimate or supplier is having trouble feeling an order hd has had two wave shipments on voltage regulator for xl's and handelbars for the dyna wideglide not mention the fatboy front fender kits someone has been more worried about production numbers than QUALITY. i think hd and buell forgot about the days when it was called AMF |

Honu, I got the same story but not quite as bad. I was told that recall kits don't automatically ship to them, and it would need to be put on order. They will call me when it arrives, but couldn't give me any sort of estimate on when that might be. It's not that this is a bad situation, it's just that I wish the information from different sources would match up from time to time... I never know who is giving me the real story, and who is feeding me a line. Of course, I have my suspicions... |

Our dealer said that the documentation that got from Buell told them of the recall coming and that the wave shipments would start on February 26th. Once all those kits were used, then the dealer would have to start ordering kits as needed. So I guess the real question is to someone who works at a dealer. What does the recall notice sent to service departments really say? To be sure Buell doesn't pick and choose which dealers are getting wave shipments and which ones are not. If they sell Buells they should get the same information and supplies. |

The first wave of parts are supposed to be used to service vehicles with a Stop Sale Order placed against them, so they can be sold. When all of those vehicles are done, then we get in line. Of course a dealer could service a customer's vehicle ahead of one sitting on the showroom floor; but that would be their choice. In the past I've worked the "other side of the counter" and I can say from my experience. That the service department is the last one inline when it comes to information on recalls. Ironic, isn't it? Well better news, after riding to the Dealer and talking to a different service person (had talked to the service manager first) face to face, he did some digging and found out they received one kit that day. So Uly is at Dealer hopefuly getting repaired. |

I stopped at A D Farrow H-D and Buell last night on my way home from work and they had one kit in stock. I rode to work today so that I could drop it off to get the recall done. I headed to the dealership and my ride headed to the bank. By the time my ride got there the work was done. Billable time = 12 min.!!! I'll post some pics tonight when I get home. |

The mail has to travel over some really twisty roads to get here, and obviously the mail doesn't get here by Buell. |

Going to do the Dragon at about 9:30, then on South. When we meet up with Buellers headed to the Dragon we'll turn back and ride with them. Are you heading in through the Dragon? We'll probably all be playing there for a while then on to the Cherohala. |

I'm going directly to the Dragon. I plan to leave Nash Vegas at around 7:00 which would put me in Knoxville around 11:00 at at the Gap around 12-12:30. I'll probably catch you on your second go around at the Gap. I'll then head down with them to TWO. |

Well that's just great! I can appreciate the difficulty in finding a suitable place to move the BAS but, this fix is unacceptable... Moving the sensor there pretty much negates storage in the tail section. |
