I test rode a Brutale the other day and am now in two minds if I can stay on my XB9S. The Brutale is similar size and feels immediately familiar to sit on to my XB. On the road the bike turns fast like the XB but is still stable and otherwise again feels similar all except the engine of course where you have this 130hp inline 4 that accelerates the bike very quickly with such ease I'd forgotten what it felt like to have such power on tap. Not a common bike its styling is almost as good as the XB. Now I am considering trading my XB. I still love the bike in many ways but have spent 2 years to get a combo that makes the engine perform well (Micron system, race ecm, open air box & catch can) only to end up with a bike too loud to ride for more that short distance even with ear plugs and have had to put restrictions in pipes to be able to use the bike which killed the microns performance. Hard for me to see what else is possible but will take any last suggestions seriously to stay with my Buell.

It sounds like you really like the Brutale. And what's not to like? It's a really sweet bike. I say go for it if it'll make you happy. That's all that really matters. You'll just be a Bueller on sabbatical |

I've heard the 750 is (relatively) dead below 4000 rpm but this is easily fixed. I rode an F4 1000 towards the end of last year and it's basically a missile. The power builds and builds AND BUILDS. And then some. It feels like a relentless drive onwards. Really very, very addictive. |

I'm trying hard to avoid test riding the 910, having ridden the 750 and the F4 1000. The F4 1000 motor needs to be in the 750 was my lasting impression. That's why when the 910 was launched, and since, I've avoided riding one. I know I couldn't have resisted it see, but other things have been more pressing to deal with so I have avoided purposely turning my head. Nothing wrong with wanting a Brutale. They're beautiful. As an aside, I test-rode a CBR1000RR. Awesome bike, lots of power, but I wouldn't trade my XB9R for one. The CBR functions incredibly well, but it didn't really excite me. It just didn't have the soul of a Buell. I like that V-twin pulsing beneath me. |

Wazza I remember your ordeal with that pipe and trying to limit the noise of it, if the bike gives you what you want well then you should go with that and then buy an old tube frame to play with on the side..hehe. I did that and it has been a wallet draining but extremely fun and rewarding experience. Plus they are just cool and relatively inexpensive to buy before you start to change everything... |

Those Brutales are indeed sweet looking rides! However, I HATE that dumb cartoon-looking star they use for a wheel. Doesn't do the rest of the bike justice. ~SM |

Very nice bike. Pull the trigger and sell that Buell to somebody else and spread the joy. In the future if you see a Buell that fits your lifestyle come on back. We'll still be here. Ride safe. -Black |

The reason the Brutale is so fast is that is the Dora the Explorer "Rocket Star" on the back wheel. I knew something was familiar when I saw that bike. I just don't want my daughter to see a pic of the Brutale or she won't be able to resist. I might have to buy one and that would just suck. |

The Brutale is a truly awesome bike. If you can afford it, I wouldn't waste any time trying to convince yourself to stay with a bike you're just not happy with. |

I started with Buells because I wanted a low power, slow bike, that still handled well. If I were not a 40 year old father of two, with little self control, I'd still be on a fast bike. If you still have the need for speed, get rid of the Buell today. You will spend yourself poor trying to turn the Buell into a powerful bike. |

Wazza, When you change your mirrors on the 750, can I have first dibs? Bike brand ownership isn't like marriage. You aren't saying "I do" when you sign the papers. Buy the 750, in a few years, something else will catch your eye. Maybe a Buell. Manufacturers are in the business of creating new "gotta have" bikes. It's how they survive. And get our money. |

7 fiddys are making a comeback! I always thought that was a good size for an inline 4. Of course they have much more power than the old 1Ks. Go for it. |

I always thought that was a good size for an inline 4." I agree. The 750's put out great power nowadays, plenty to carry a 200+ pounder around and keep it exciting. I used to "need" a literbike- ZX11, ZX9, etc. Now a 750 provides the same thrills, and MUCH lighter then the old literbikes. |

I had a stellar commission year in 2004 and would probably have bought an MV. I'd go to the Ferrachi dealership and drool. The salesmen were such pricks that I decided not to give them a dime, went XB instead. Love the XB and made a good decisoin, but I'd never rag on an MV, they are rolling art. |

A monster Buell 500 cc offering would be killer. There is a TT Island classic up our way that has a displacement restriction on it.... a Nice lil 450 or 500 with some torgue and guts to scare the neighbors would be fun. My garage is feeling small and my wallet thin. Too many rides in the Buell works to make a decision on which will be first. |

The 750 Brutale is a beautifully built bike, and one tat you will not tire of just looking at They do need to be revved hard to get the most of the 127bhp though, so are a bit different in nature to the Buell. I'm not quite sure what to make of that. I can't work out how it drives, but I'd assume it does. This for me is cheapening the MV brand. Nothing more than a cash cow. I'll be penning a strong letter of complaint to Claudio Castiglioni, asking them to cease production. Woody, you've put me off Brutales forever Rocket |

I did always question the use of that design for the wheel myself, but I love everything else about the bike. When my XB is paid off I'm sure I'll probably start to get the itch again and the Brutale will be one of the first bikes I look at. I really look at those bikes as a way to enjoy just about everything about a Buell with crazy performance to go with it. I'm sure that I would miss the old V-Twin lump of an engine within a couple of weeks though. |
