Question: I just installed the handguards on my M2. What did you do about the plastic throttle sleeve that covers the end of the bar? Drill it out? Replace it with an upgraded one? | ||

What do you mean them? I'm not talking grips, I'm actually talking the plastic sleeve under the throttle grip. How difficult is the swap? | ||

On my X1 the throttle sleeve was open on the end and a plastic bar end was in it. Just pulled them out of each side and repalced with CityX bar ends so the hand guards could snap into them. If your throttle sleeve is not open on the end then maybe cut it or get new grips with a new sleeve. Al | ||

Do you mean the throttle sleeve itself--part that cable attaches to,rotates on bar-?? It can be trimmed all you want/need. | ||

You shouldn't need to trim anything. Just pop off the stock plastic bar end and pop in the CityX plastic bar end. I had a little difficulty pushing the CityX one in, but got it with a little work | ||

Doh! Explination: I have the traction grips that cover the end of the bars, so I cut the center ring out of them to fit the hand guard plugs in. The left side was open under the grip, the right side had plastic covering the bar under the grip. I just assumed it was the throttle sleeve. After I spent 10 minutes pulling the grip off, I realized it was just a plug. Pulled the plug out, put the grip back on, pushed the new plug in, and we're good to go. I rode the other day in 40 degrees with lightweight thinsulate gloves. Didn't notice any wind or cold on my hands at all! I like these things! | ||
