Vic , That was just a little April's Fools joke in December! I thought my hand on the tank and the spaces inside the wheels would give my photo away. But the Buell VR1203 is almost done, the body work will be here Thursday after being refinished.

Testing resolution. Shot a roll of print film and the local quickie shop had a deal on digitizing so thought I'd try it once.

Hope this works halfway decent. Existing garage light, no flash.

Okay, those suck. Back to the digital camera shopping. Oh well.

Nick: I second that assesment. I have the brother to that camera, the S300 (3x optical zoom). It totally rocks! I paid $500 plus another $40 or so for an extra battery.

The deal above includes an additional 16MB CF card and a carry case as well. Compared to the S300, the only thing the S110 is missing is a few buttons, and a little more zoom.

If you want to see what these cameras can do, check out some of my pics from my Oregon vaca at http://www.photopoint.com . Enter spamproof@att.net for the email address. Most pics were taken at medium resolution (1024/768 pixels) and medium quality/compression (fine setting). At max resolution (1600x1200) and max quality (superfine setting) you get photo quality prints up to 8"x10". Plus the camera is encased in stainless steel and is VERY compact.

I've totally foresaken conventional film photography. Bought a 128 MB CF card for ~$70 and will never need to pay for film or develping again.

Blake (happy digiphotguy) :)

Mikej...

The Olympus linked above is a great camera at a great price. My only beef might be how long it takes between when you push the button, and when the shot takes. The A20 (an earlier Olympus) had a pretty substantial delay, which caused tons of missed shots. Other then that, it was perfect.

Also consider the Nikon CoolPix 950. Older camera, lots available used (on eBay) and direct from nikon (factory refurbished). Should go for $400 or less (used). Incredible optics, incredibly rich feature set for serious photographers, great all around camera.

S110 & mini-printer
This looks interesting, don't know how the printer would hold up to life in a tankbag though.
I looked at some of the Canons, and am also looking at the Sony P5 & P30, and the Kodak 3500 or dx3700(?) seemed interesting. I'm trying to stay under $200 for now though. And not having a laptop yet I'll need the ability to link the camera up to a relative's or friend's computer to offload photos to email them home while on the road.
Blake, how many shots were you able to get onto a memory card?
