... since my high-side racing in my 4th race of the day, being carted off on a backboard and nearly a week in ICU, 4 months in a wheelchair and a year of neuro assessment and PT. Pics are linked as I don't own the images yet. Soon as I get title, I'll post up some pics. Really felt good out there - even though my laptimes are a full 10 seconds slower than 2 years ago - it felt really comfortable. Nothing remarkable. I was worried that I'd have some mental hurdles to get over but it never happened... it just all felt goooooood. Plan was to get in as much seat time as possible so we ran Saturday practices and Sunday 2 practices and 4 races. 2 were back-to-back. TOO MUCH FUN Man, I missed this game. REALLY missed it all: Pic one Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4 Pic 5 'nother pic Still 'nother Vid that a buddy took in my first full practice session. This Saturday morning was only the 8th time my butt had been on a motorcycle seat in 2 years. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUUpRtPNEEE He was experimenting with his new video camera and editing so 'taint much. More to come. |

Hey Steve, you have already done the toughest part of full recovery...getting back on the bike on the track. I had a high side nearly 3 years ago that broke every bone in my shoulder that could be broken...eight in all. I can remember friends who asked if I was going to get back on the bike. I replied to their question with a question, "If you wrecked your car, would you ever drive a car again?" I felt the same way about getting back on the bike. Take it easy and get your confidence back and you will be as fast or faster than you ever were. Good luck, and we will be rooting for you. jimidan (Message edited by jimidan on February 22, 2007) |
