Anybody that rides in the Spokane (most of eastern WA and some ID) area please feel free to organize, hypothesize, theorize or just chill and discuss. I just wanted something a little more specific to our area. I'm always willing to meet up for a nice relaxing ride in the country side, or a ball haulin' tear on the track. |

I got cut off in a turn on government way... reacted on the front brake, bad idea. i'm ok now, just a little swelling left. I already got new headers and an intake for the bike and all i need is mirrors and blinkers and i'm good to go. Oh, and a new helmet and jacket too, merry christmas to me!

What did I always say about using the front brake while swerving?????? As you have now learned- Very bad Idea. If you must react little rear brake preasure is about all you can aford. |

I wasn't swerving... just turning. And I know, I was retarded. It was more of a reaction then anything. Hopefully I don't have to learn again. Already got new pipes and intake. Just need mirrors, blinkers and new forks and I'm good to go. Oh... and new gear (hopefully pictured above). Dude! You should see my helmet, FUBAR! |

Hey guys...I would like to ask your help in the choice of a route from Spokane to Kettle Falls...Six of us will be over-nighting the evening of June 19 in Spokane...We want to pick up WA 20 in Kettle Falls and take it west to WA 9 and then north into BC...My specific question is to which road, US 395 or WA 25, would be the better ride?...If 25 to connect to it I was looking at WA 291, then N on WA 231 and then W on Ford Wellpinit, McCoy Lake, W End and Midget Lake roads...Or should I just stay N on WA 231 and take the Springdale-Hunters road over to WA 25?...I noticed that the first route in thru the reservation and wondered if that is a problem or not?... Thanks, Bob |

Bob, Would love to comment but haven't riden either road that far. When the weather clears up I'll ride 'em and let you know. |

The reservation won't (shouldn't) be a problem, but like Josh said, haven't ridden either of them so I couldn't say... just pick the one with more turns. |

Josh and Jim...Thanks a bunch guys...A neat loop for you guys might be to take 2 west to Davenport and then head up 25 and back over the roads thru the reservation...The reason I ask about the reservation is that the Cherokee in NC have their own police and they just love to write paper on pale faces...Kinda racial profiling which is kinda funny to me...So I've always tiptoed thru their roads and so far no problema... Thanks again, Bob |

Hey guys, New to Spokane (from Reno) lookin' to do some riding with some fellow buellers. Not much of a fast guy but love to ride on my S3. Is there a BRAG group around here? Also need some new rubber and a tune up on the bike, where do you guys go? Michael |

Michael, Welcome to the area! Im newer here too (moved from SLC, Utah last year) so can't help you with the rubber end of your question. I'll see if I can't get ahold of redhat or his wife and see where they normally take their M2. There is not a BRAG chapter set up and from what I have hear BRAG isn't going to be setting up any new chapters. I have been working on getting an Inland Empire Buellers group together and with BRAG pretty much out of the way Shumate Harley might be more ameaniable to supporting a local group. As far as Buell Riders in the area obviously we have Jimmy (M2) and myself (SS), 12 Bolt (Uly)& Redhat (M2). There are a couple more around there is a 9R out in Cheney, I have seen a Blast downtown and a friend has SS out to the west bout 50 miles. I have setup a yahoo group: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/IE_Buellers/ just for ease of having a calander and picture archive. Anyway Welcome to the area again and feel free to post here and join the yahoo group hopefully we'll get out on the road soon (well as soon as I clean the garage *glares at wife*) |

Hi Mike, redhat signing on from the Sandbox. The last time I needed rubber I went to...damn, I can't remember the name of the place... Josh you know the place, the little bike shop just off of 90 at Sprague catty corner from the Taco Time. They took good care of me. I had a wickedly worn out rear tire and couldn't get off of work to take the bike down so Janel hauled it on the trailer. They did all the work and sold me the Michelin Pilots for a very reasonable price. You might give them a try. As for service I've had good luck as Shumate and if we keep going in there and they see that there are people interested in more that just black and orange t-shirts we might get some more support. Just my two cents. Pete |

Pete, Nice to see you have found a way to get on over there. I believe the place your talking about is Ed's motorcycle shop... will look into it tomorrow. I managed to sit down with the manager (Erik) prior to my little stint in the sandbox and he seemed supportiv if I could prove the rider base, you know more then you and me Pete. Anyway im gonna call it a night. Josh |

Nice meeting you guys. The reason for the BRAG thing is I get a discount with SAFECO insurance. If I am a member of a club I get a 10% discount. Thanks for the heads up on the "ed's" And the local HD. Is Michelin Pilot's still a good choice for tires? I'll check out the yahoo group. Michael |

I got my insurance through Allstate, $260/ year cuz they consider it a recreation vehicle. Redhat! I heard you were leaving PCS wise from some of yer cop buddies. Say it ain't so. |

Jimmy_Bondo $260 a year is great. I got a quote from safeco for $315 with only comprehensive. Tack on an additional $30 a month for collision. Is the allstate both collision and Comprehensive? Michael |

Jimmy, Nah, I can't get orders no matter how hard I try. I am however spending 6 months in the garden spot of the middle east. I should be home sometime Aug/Sept if the stars align, the moon is in the correct house, the Lord is willing and the river don't rise. Pete |

Buellguy- I'm pretty sure it's both but i'll have to check again. All i know for sure is that they consider it a recreational vehicle and it satisfies the bank (for the loan) so word to your mother. Redhat- so it seems we'll have plenty more opportunities to ride as long as they don't send me to korea or sumpthin', good stuff. |

Was it a S1? I met a guy that lives really close to Northtown that has an older S1 and a CBR. His S1 is freakin' sweet, he went to americansportbike.com and bought a bunch of carbon for it. You can tell he's dumped it though. |

Redhat- I'm due for some new fluids... what kinda oil do you use in your M2? Do you know how much Shumate will do it all for? |

Jimmy, To date I've been using HD synthetic, purely because I don't want to give them any reason to void the extended warranty I paid so much for. I hear Mobil 1 is really good as well. I'll ask Janel to look back at some of my receipts to find out how much you can expect to pay Shumate. The easiest way is do it yourself. I have the service manual if you need the specs etc. I'm not going to need it for a few months Pete |

Jimmy, Shumate is having a special right now 35.00 for oil includes filter and labor, Transmission will run you about $30. So your looking about 65 total. I used Mobil 1 full synthetic for my oil and tranny fluid. I know the tranny was 75w-90 can't recall off hand on the oil weight, I think mobil makes a synthetic for V-Twins. |

Oil should be 20w-50 if memory serves. Of course I'm going through such Buell DTs that I could be wrong. |
