Well, 25 miles north of Bridgeport/Wheeling, 35 west of Pittsburgh and just across river from Weirton West by god Virginia. You gonna visit? My doors always open to a Bueller or as a matter of fact any biker, I dont care what anyone rides as long as they ride. I think we're alot alike us bikers. We just get different feelings for different bikes but ride for the FREEDOM. Its 12:50 and Im polishing my new PM's, am I getting it or what? I love the way they shine. Gonna look bitchin on the bike. (Message edited by wile_e.coyote on February 07, 2007) |

I work at Wheeling Pitt Steel. Ive been here now for 3 and 1/2 years. Was working at Weirton Steel but they shut the hot end down. Worked out of the local union hall as an electrician journeyman for 2 years prior to that. #246. Before that I was a forward air controller in the military with service in the first gulf war. Whew, alot to sort out. We should get together, if anything just to ride. If not first at Mountaneer. |

Sounds great, look forward to it. Wheres your plant at? I work in Mingo Junction which is just south of Steubenville. I live 10 min from work and do enjoy what I do. It also gives me an oppurtunity to build stuff for my Special Projects division. Tonight we installed lasers and reflectors for our hot metal cars. That in turn give feedback to our process controls. Now we know here the cars are and dont have any electro-mechanical limits. Interesting work with lots of conduit/wire runs. Got to pick up some fine scraps a stainless steel. 1/16th in plates I can use for brackets and the like. Pretty cool stuff. Strong and light. |

Sound like a machinists dream. You run a division for them? Must be neat to see the final product. We should try to give each other tours of the plants. (well, thats work do we really want to talk that much about it?) I am waiting on some brake rotors from a guy in Canada. Its bee 3 weeks since I sent him the Money Order and hes not received it. You done any dealing in Canada? Starting to get worried as I sent him 325 for the pair. I hope nothings gone wrong. Well its 11 and I just got home from afternoon turn. I work next week daylight which is 6-2. Saturday I should finish up early if you had any thoughts of going gambling. (no pressure at all) Just thought it might cross your mind. In the mean time I'll be cleaning and rubbing down my bike. Still have a few things I'd like to do. |

Yeah i run Wrougt Products Div. Really the only final product i get to see is coil & weld wire. And when one of my ultra sonic guys missed a deviation in the material and the customer had already put a butt load of time & money into the material and it gets sent back to get analyzed. We do alot of Gov't work also mostly for Navys nuclear program. My bike starts getting torn down next week. |

I saw that you are looking for parts. What are your plans may I ask? I've of course wasted no time messin with mine. Gonna make some screens that go under the seat in the notch of the subframe. seen them on e-bay but dont think 65 is even a fair price for something like that. I think I can make something similar and of my own creation. I guess thats part of the freedom I spoke of. I enjoy messin. I look for performance but dont like an unreliable motor. Got any suggestions about it? I already run the race ecm and exhaust. Its got a hypercharger but I dont like it. I want a forcewinder or a race Buell air cleaner. What do you run? Was thinking about roller rockers and lifters as well as a set of cams. It only has 2500 miles, do you think I should leave it alone? I ask because you've had a Buell alot longer. |

Wile were still kinda in the same boat i haven't had my bike for that long and i've rode it even less. I bought it one year ago next month. Waited all winter to ride it nice weather came i rode maybe 15 times less than two hundred miles. And one of the head bolts came loose and wore hole through rocker box ended up trashing cylinder. That was beginning of june didn't get it back until end of august. But about 600 more miles on it and forks started leaking. Parked it again for about another month and then first day of Deer season was so nice i didn't care if forks were leaking or not i rode 400 miles that day. I was pissed but not as much as my buddy dave every time he went to get his bike i already had it i'll tell ya what for and old ninja that tank will move. well anyway i don't know to much about my bike yet. Pretty sure its mostly stock i do have a round CF air intake and supertrapp exhaust. But here are my plans fix every little thing that i think is going to be a problem and when thats done i already have a M2 swingarm lined up. I want a manta tank and forcewider or something that will fit me better im about six foot and my knee hits it. And i want another exhaust just not sure what yet. so sense were both fairly new at this maybe we can throw ideas back and forth and help each other out. There was a guy on another thread that had a forcewinder collecting dust on a shelf. I asked him if he wanted to get rid of it but it won't work on my bike it was for a fuel injected X1. I going to try and find that post. I'll get back to you. |

Thanks bro! I emailed him waiting to hear back. Hope he can help. Unfortunately I sent out a money order to a guy in canada( ptobably mentioned it) its been since 1/22 and he hasnt got it. I hope this guys closer. It would make me verrry happy to get rid of the hypercharger. I've cleaned up the stainless header and might leave it like that. Instead of wrapping it. I hear good and bad about it, mostly bad. |

But when i have the solo corbin gunfighter on it my knee is good to go. I checked my schedule for next weekend i have a ISO seminar for work saturday. So saturday will not work for me. But i screawed up i told the wife before i checked my schedule. Now shes all pissed because she's always up for slot machines and she hates my job. Well not my job just the hours i put in and she really loves the 3:00am phone calls from my guys asking me questions. When she starts getting all moody i just smile and tell her you knew when you married me you we're marring electralloy also. But lets get back on point i just start rambling away. So this saturday no go for me when else will you be free to meet up. |

Calibrating lasers and blowing down transmitters. I have a pet project I've been working on. Trying to eleviate an ongoing problem on one of our 400ton cranes. Boy O Boy did we get dumbed on. I bet i have between 15-20 inches in the driveway today. Wife got her car stuck half way up the driveway last night. I just bought my house last summer so i never got around to buying a snow blower. Well i got around to it today. Man i didn't realize what those things cost holy shit i could of did a big bore kit on the S1 for what it cost. So i take it home. Wifes car is in the garage and Driveway has already been plowed boy was i confused at this point in time. Here my brother in law came over and hooked me up what a good guy he is. So now i got the snow thing covered i remember i have a present for the wife. I give it to her and tell her happy Valentines day. Shes like i feel so bad i didn't get you anything. Im like oh ya you did it'll be here next week you bought it from Appleton,WI. She just smiled and says we'll i hope you like what i bought you. So tell me again what did i buy you. I told her you'll have to wait until next week to see what you bought me. She's like i sure hope i didn't buy you a new bike. I just smiled and headed to work i love to make her wonder. But really all it is is everything i need do my forks and bearings Throttle cables & brake tubes and i can't remember everything else. I guess i'll have to wait till next week to see what i ordered also. Matt i sent you a PM |

Shoulda saved your cash for the new parts you'r wanting! As for Vday I spent it in the company of four hairy ogre looking gents that, well, smelled bad. It turned out to be very busy and I did get my project finished. Cudo's to me, Thankya. We got hammered with the powder then turned to really nasty ice and sleet. I had a nice "slide" into work. LOL I got home in time to be greeted by a phone call from my daughter who is 8 now. She promises a very nice gift and Valentine for dad. I'm sure it will be the best I've got in years. Well, next to what my honey is giving me. (insert dirty thought here) The kids been out of school for a few days and had time to make all kinds of things so she says. Her name is Lindsay and she is by far the best thing to happen to me ever. Daddies pride and joy. Sounds like you got a major project on you'r hands. Cant wait to see the finished item. Look forward to hearing from you and thanks for lookin out on that other thing. I get a bad vibe from that cat too. Cya........Mattu |

Today is one of those indefinite days. I got here about 10:00am and i have a feeling i'll be here when the sun comes up tomorrow. Besides Production Supervisor i'm also the Forktruck & Overhead Crane safety trainer and respirator & confined space trainer for my shop. And its that time of year to start doing refresher classes. I did have the year end Production review with the Board of directors, President& Vice president and the heads of all departments. We all did very well this year. My department had another record year we did eight million more pound of production than last year. I'm pretty happy with that. |

Hope you get home soon and safe. I had one of "those" days. We started with a cable change on a 150 ton crane. Then had amajor breakdown with the arc furnace. All went well, got it all back together and still got out with a 12. Good deal after all. I responded to a guy with a crack about Buells vs CBRs in the classifieds. Check it out. Am I wrong or should I not wave my Buell banner so high? Kinda fires me up to see something like that on this site. Some people just miss the boat. Anyhow, sent payment to the cat with the forcewinder and also a cat with a carbon fender. YEEHAW! Hurry up UPS. Starting to wind down with ideas, guess its time to build it. Working on under tail screens now. Gonna look for materials for a catch can. I balked on the other one. He quoted me two prices and I didnt even ask for one, just bid on the bay. Gonna see what American Sport Bike can do about the rest of the carbon parts. Saw a couple of tanks for your ride there also. Maybe you want to check them out. C-ya.Mattu |

Just wanted to relate a nice story. I'm in the middle of building my idea of "THE" Buell. They had made it but now are rare. So its a clone I guess. So in between working extra turns to pay for it all I realized I couldnt quite get like I thought I could. Expecting to get rejected and rebuffed as so many times before, I reluctantly asked for a discount on parts that could only be bought one place. American Sport Bike. In a flash I recieved a quote with that break and was very pleased with the service I recieved from Al at American Sport Bike. He is as good as they come. Cordial and pleasant to talk to. Easy to talk to and a good soul down deep. If only we had an Al on every corner for our Buell parts. I would say he has earned my business forever and much more importantly my respect. Thankyou Al, keep up the good work and much thanks and appreciation. |

Well i didn't get to see the sun come up at work. I was home for about hour and a half before daylight broke. I went in at 10am thursday morning and i left at about 4:30am friday morning. The good news is i made it home alright the bad news i also made it back to work this afternoon i tried so hard to get lost on my way here. But my cell phone keep ringing with the shop phone# flashing on my screen. I got to work to find out my guys snapped the drive shaft on the 10 ton crane right over top of the small saws and the crane won't move and we can't unload the saws and i can't get Crane Pro the company that does all major services on our cranes they can't make it in until monday with the new drive shaft. All my guys are like what do you want us to do. I told them to guy take a break. But really i couldn't have them see how i was going to move the crane with (Big Burtha) thats are large forktruck she's rated to lift about 55,000#.when they came back from break their like how did you move the crane. I had to tell fib a little to them. I couldn't tell them the truth and then lecture forktruck safty to them. I look at it like this i get paid to make decisions to keep production moving. Now if my decision isn't the completely safe way to do it. Then i'll be the one to do it because i'd never put any of my guys in any kind of danger. The two most important rules in the shop is. To walk out of work under their own power with all bodyparts intact and material identification. And that is what has been going on with me. Now Matt what all did Al hook you up with come on let me hear the goody list. |

Its guys like you that keep things going. If you kept people out of harms way then you did your job. Too bad its that kind of thing that happens to keep you there. I work with our bull gang and change lotsa driveshafts and wheels as well as all kinds of cables and structural beams. I know what your up against. Well the goodies are all carbon fiber bodywork. I've always loved the look and wanted a carbon X-1. Hard to find in any kind of good shape. I know its a copy but I hope its one of a kind too. With the other things that will be done I think it'll be unique. Things are coming together well, just cant wait till its one piece again and I can ride it. I e-mailed Weeble and he sent me back saying he's been hammered in Newark too. Been on a local site so hasnt been here. I assumed you two knew each other. He apparently (like the rest of us) cant stand the weather. Said something like @#&^!* cold. I think he rides a late model 12. It would be neat to hook up with you both to make a ride to Columbus or Hocking Hills. We'll have to do something with or without him. I'm counting the days impatiently.........Mattu |
