Sorry to be cross-posting but for those not following the SPLASH thread, the proposal has been put forward to hold it the weekend of August 1st, being the week after Laguna. That's a long weekend up here and a bit problematic for me but I hope to be able to make it work. |

I know what you mean about them squrrels scarecrow, they're wired genetically to run in front, but I've found if you just keep going, they almost always get out of the way. In the small percentage, SPLAT!, and what not. No reason for fear tho... |

Bob, thanks for the Laguna memories! Looking forward to this year, just not so hot. So, this year Laguna will actually be MotoGP race #2 of the season for me. I've made plans to go on an eight-day riding tour in Spain culminating with the race in Barcelona, Catalunya. Look for me in the crowd. May have to bring the stars and stripes with me! |

Green-Eric- glad to see you posting late last night, we saw on the news that a Mult Co Officer had been hit while in the line of duty last night and Mike and I were hoping it wasn't you. I almost cried when I saw those pics of Mike, Cody, Matt and Kyle. Isn't family great! And then the extended family - all you guys - HUGS! Speaking of extended family - we saw Lonnie driving home from work the other day - that was cool - it was a quick Honk, Wave and off you go, hope to exchange more than that soon with you guys! |

Kim, It was nice to see you even if it was on the road. We have been so busy but I am keeping up on Badweb. We had our daughter move home in Dec. so that has been an adjustment for all. Also just got back to work today. My sister and I had to make a dash across the border up north to Merritt BC to attend our Grandmothers funeral. Thought of all our Canadian freinds as we drove threw. I really am going to get to planning SPLASH. Bob, Great pics! You and Deb are sure lookin good. |

Galen, De nada. Had my first day of work in the TIF (Theater Internment Facility) yesterday. Pretty interesting. Shouldn't be too bad, at least I'm not getting shot at or mortared every day like the guys up North. One day down, 178 to go. Pete |

Hey Everyone! Been a long time. One can always tell when I'm between jobs cause I end up posting on this board at some point. I hope every one is happy and well. Yesterday, on my way back home from Tacoma, I stopped for the first time at Siverdale Harley/Buell. There is a new bike in my future at some point, and I have always wanted to ride a Uly. I rode one, actually I rode two, an 06, and an 07. I thought I would love the Uly, riding a Tiger now and missing the feel of my old S-3, I thought the Uly was the perfect bike for me. Oddly enough, it's not. To me it's an okay bike, comfortable, but slugish in power delivery and seemed to shake at lower speeds more than my S-3. that was surprising. It's a nice ride, but does not trip my trigger. What did trip my trigger in a big way was the XB12Ss I rode. I'm 6'02" at 230lbs and I always assumed that I would be cramped on the small XB Buells. I also assumed that I would experience the same screaming knee pain that I did on my Daytona, which is why I ride a Tiger now. Surprise! I am really comfortable on the XB Long. I probably look like I'm riding a mini bike, but I feel as though I could put significant miles on this bike. The power delivery is awesome! Crisp and without any hesitation, which is something the 06 Uly seemed to do from time to time. The bike was sooo different from the ULY, smoother, less shake at idle, and seemless power. Run the bike through first and second, and your past sixty without even trying, and that's without exceeding 5000 RPM. I absolutely loved the bike. So perhaps once I'm working again, you may see me at Border Raid again on a Buell. It will be a XB 12Ss or maybe a TT. I got to find one of those to ride! Take care my friends, you may see me around as the weather get's better on my old blue Tiger. |

Whomever is hanging around Portland instead of heading up north for Daytona party: Triumph is having a parking lot event at Portland Motorcycle on Saturday the 10th from 10 to 6. There's a spring opener ride and demo in the morning and event also has 70% off parts, accessories, apparel, plus a used parts/bike swap. Barbecue. Part of their 'bike week for the rest of us' promotion. I'm kind of wondering whether to order Speed Channel now that I have a big HD tv! |
