I'm going to my first track day in 07 and need a pair of boots...any suggestions for inexpensive but good quality (lol)?

I'd get a decent pair of waterproof boots that cover your ankle well. Somethink you can wear while riding on the street as well. www.newenough.com has some good deals.

I have a pair of Sidi Vertabrae 2 Air Carbon's that I bought in '02 from newenough.com. They've seen a LOT of trackdays and are still awesome. I highly recommend Sidi and newenough.com. Sidi's also seem to be more flexible than the Alpinestars boots I've seen, which is nice when you're shifting, etc.

If you're not planning on riding in the rain, get ventilated boots.

I also like the Sidi boots. I've owned vertebras and currently ride exclusively in my vertigos.

Great boots, adjustable calves and replaceable sliders....whats not to like?

the B1 or b2 I forget what the designation is, is the budget version of the Sidis without the bells and whistles. IMHO
you should save a bit more and buy the full-on street/race boots.
