I have just bought a Buell RS1200 which is in Louisiana. Problem is, I'm in the UK. I aim to fly over next week and close the deal say Wednesday or Thursday next (14th or 15th Feb). Does anybody have a reliable crating and international shipping company that they can recommend please? I believe the place is about 2 hours drive from Houston TX, there should be plenty of shippers there abouts? Thanks. Steve. |

When I worked for HD we used DHL/Danzas to ship all our overseas sales. They have a metal "skid" designed for motorcycle shipments. Try this place though..you will need shipping class, on average motorcycles are a Class 80 shipment www.freightquote.com These people have a customer service line, once you get the quote call them and they will usually negotiate the price with you on the phone, also it is better if you set up an account before you call that way they can assign you a CS rep. Good luck and congrats. |

What you REALLY should do is wait to pick it up until about March 28th.. then ride over to Suches in North Georgia and spend the weekend of March 30th riding your new bike in the twisties of the Appalachian mountains with us at March Badness IV. Then zip down to Atlanta and ship it home from there. Sounds like the perfect "New Bike" trip to me??!! I realize that this was of no help to your shipping question... but if you did this, you would be the visitor to March Badness IV who travelled the farthest to get there... the notoriety alone would be worth it! Steve, I used this company to get my '68 Dodge pickup over from Oklahoma (via Houston). Nice people, no messing around, guy's name is Peter if my memory serves. They'll advise you of what you need to do & all that. Cheers Innes. http://www.specialised-shipping.co.uk/index.htm My number's in the RAN if you need to talk it over, I've registered a couple of US vehicles, but no bikes. |

steve- congrats on winning the auction. it looks like a very nice ride. i really think that you won't find a reliable shipping company. so how's about me picking up the bike and keeping 'safe' for you. you could come and ride it anytime. what do you think? andy - 'hotrats56' on ebay (the runner up bidder on your rs1200 ) |
