Hey guys probably OT - but let me share some pics with you from the last few days - i got some beauties. And I rode around on my XB to get them. Broke out of the office on Thursday for a nice commission to produce some advertising eye candy in the Wintergarden at Auckland Domain. Pays the bills. I figured it was a snap happy day by then - so headed over to the West Coast and video-ed a burn along lone Kauri Rd and took in the sunset over Piha beach. Previously posted Video of the ride is here: http://www.davidcohen.co.nz/loner/loner.html The sunset was a peach Friday opened with my Kiwi Rider cap on and breakfast at the local media launch for the new Triumph Tiger. I was away on it while the other journos coffee'd. First impression is not surprising. Cross a Speed Triple with A Sprint ST. Then I had a go on this thing. The Piaggio MP3. 250 fuel injected and Great fun. The best 3 wheeler I've ridden. And then I grabbed the S3 for a burn. Man I love these bikes. I took it for a blast while the other Journos had eggs. Then after the launch 'Stretch' took the Speed Triple away and I jumped on the Buell and we went and 'played' a bit. He's teaching me some good tricks. I love this shot. It's called 'When Stretch heard about Cliff it stopped him in his tracks.' You should see it a 22mb. Schwing. And then the weekend started! And it's a huge one for motorcycle events in Auckland. Friday afternoon was down to the big Classics Festival at Pukekohe. The full set of pics - including some beaut old timers is on Kiwi Rider's site http://www.kiwirider.co.nz/class1/index.html This is my friend Chris and he's racing in a whole class of 350 twins. there is a heap of others - will be back out there for the big races tomorrow, but some cool machines. Nice. Saturday and I headed to the MNZ Motorcycle show in Manukau South Auckland. It was cool. Lots of interesting stuff. The Suzuki 6cyl concept bike. Rather spiffy. While my friends were doing the rounds I was rounding up the girls. I tell ya that Aaron Slight is a really nice bloke. Yamaha girls The display was impressive. Gotta love this city. There behind it's intricate security system of yellow string is now one of the most famous, and probably valuable, motorcycles ever. I detatched the security to get a shot. Beautiful. The new Ducati was there. I like this shot. I'm sure I had that look outside Homebush Motorcycles on Parramatta Rd and it was a new Yamaha SR500 in the Window. 'Oh yes, it will be mine'. Then I wandered outside and the press shirt gets me right in the middle of the Trials display and some awesome skills. After that I went and rounded up some more girls. Picture doesn't do the Maori kid any justice at all - babe. And then half an hour later he's camped under the FMX display. Wish I could show em at full res. Nailed a few of em. Wild skills too. Cant wait to get back out to the classics tomorrow now. |

Awesom pics. It must have been nice to see all those vintage bikes flying around the track, especially the Britten. How many of those were made? It would have really have sucked if it got binned somehow. |

There's a bit of confusion about the exact "how many" due to a change in numbering during production. On the order of 10 is about right. |

Way I hear it from Kenny, who was there, rolling the joints - there were lots of things 'confused'. 'But that's all in the book.' he told me. 'Yeah - you'd have to be a bit bent to come up with those exhaust pipes.' I said. |
