http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/38589.html?1067224555 Yea it was hot - so I figured if its going to be hot every place - might as well have fun! I went and got to shake hands and take pics, and ride! Two bottles of water and two sodas and I called it a day for sunshine and back to the home to cool off! Funniest part of the day was the begining when half way down the block I found my speedo not working - oh well - no biggie - later for fixing that - definately a fun time! Got Thump?! Okay, a new one for me... went out for a group lunch ride today (Sonoma County), off of Westside Road turned west onto Sweetwater Springs Road... crossed a cattle guard and a sign says "narrow winding road next 15 miles" They weren't kidding... no traffic, most of it was 2nd/3rd gear, up & down steep ridge lines & along creek beds, going from open hillsides to redwoods and back decent road surface, not much loose gravel so if you like it tight, steep and twisty this is it |

A trip to Stinson Beach from SF will scrub your tires all the way to the edge, without trying - yuppers theres great roads every where around here - lol - we do a SLO ride once year - the first weekend and monday of April - though you could take off sunday for home as well, but the fun of the ride is that we meat up with Blast riders from So Cal and do a ride together and head for home monday morn the northern route - is sweet - all day backroad ride ( with a total of about 40 minutes of freeway split in half - middle and end) - the rest of the time is in some of the most scenic and fun backroads you'll find - then the ride around the SLO area - dinner w/ other Blastards, and monday its either of which ways is best - but if the fogs lifted in the morn - definately hwy 1! It was definately fun this time and I hope for even more riders this next time, but it wouldn't matter - thats a great set of roads I wouldn't even mind doing alone - in fact more fun;0) - a lot of the time we had the roads to ourselves and the days where perfect! If you want to show - or find out more about the ride - check out the SLO ride in the Blast Quick Board. That sounds like a sweet piece of road you found - luv to check it out. Got Thump?! Well its getting to that time of year again! Who would be interested in a group ride for all Northern California and beyound riders to meet the Southern California and beyond Blast riders? The time April 2, 3, and 4 - though it can be just the 2nd and 3rd for those pressed by time! Yes the anual San Louis Obispo - SLO Ride is on again and I hope to meet a lot of the western USA Blast riders this year! How about it folks - a chance to finally put a face to the names/nonplumes of folks you've been conversing with is yours and the rides are fun! Speak up if your interested so I can get rooms and rides arranged. Last year was great fun and a great group of rides - to there, around there, and back again! - 3 unique routes, and new additions planed for this year! Well Blastards - how about it - ready to ride? Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ |
