Blake, thanks, will do. Maybe my reasons are more selfish.I've been feelin' negative, and it's been building for awhile.Maybe i sought out this interaction to help bring me back into the fold.I dunno, with all the banter about new engines, blah, blah,i've never been let down performance wise regarding mine. Can't name one time.perhaps it's the mechanical wonder of complexity that's got me wanting a "new" engine. In any case i'll be patient. Hey,cool shades Court. |

>>>>Hope that porch wasn't just painted Yikes. . . . Keep this between the two of us, but as the New Year dawns, I have just added yet another chapter to the stories you can't believe anthology. I'm not sure the internet is ready for it, but I shared it with a friend who has teenage sons, primarily as a warning, only to find out that my accidentally discovered formula for homemade pyrotechnics had elevated me to quasi-hero status. As good fortune would have it when the can of black shoe polish exploded in the pristine white kitchen the dog was cowering in the basement. Ya learn something everyday. I'm fairly certain the good Lord didn't intend for me to be a chemist. |

Ducxl, Much like you I had wondered exactly who and what this "Court" guy was all about. I think Court needs to write an autobiography on his life and have it posted here to answer the questions. But he is much too modest to do that. Everybody here "kinda" added to the mystery while adding to the myth and legend of Court along the way. After working with him on a project this year and talking to him a few times over the phone/internet and finally meeting him this summer the mystery seemed to reveal itself. I spent a few minutes getting the cliff notes on his life, relationship with Erik, and the BMC. I'll say this first...you could spend days talking to Court and hearing stories and only get a small picture of what Buell means to him and what he means to Buell. Yes he currently is an unofficial spokesman, but that is unofficially. This is my brief translation of his biography....A long time ago on a race track far far away, Court saw this guy race a hand built machine fabricated in a barn with his own sweat and gears. It was keeping pace with factory high financed machines so Court thought wow....I need to meet this guy. To make a long story short...he jumped on a plane and flew to Wisconsin, asked around town for residence of this Erik guy...drove to a farm in the middle of nowhere and knocked on the door. There he met Erik and the relationship started. They spent days together just talking bikes and the future of Buell. Many notebooks were filled and when Court left Wisconsin he had a life long friend. Over the years Court worked in many states while keeping his ties to Erik. When the construction business slowed he took on more "official" titles at BMC and was under the company umbrella. But as Court would state it, the business kept calling him back in even when he thought he was out. Opportunities in other places and currently in NY building power plants and other facilities have him busy even when he retired a few times. Although he is an unofficial BMC employee to date it is nothing to have a FedEx truck show up with a crate and a bike for him to ride so he can give feedback to his friend. He is as passionate a guy you will find, not only about Buell, but about everything in his life. That is very easy to tell and I only spent a few minutes with the guy. Yes Court is just a construction worker, and as Erik says..."I'm just a mechanic." Hope that helps everybody a little. |

certain low cost generic non-dairy creamers can provide a great deal of entertainment when dispursed and ignited properly or so I am told how does Jack take his coffee? |

Wow,Shandon, that's the story i suspected.I'm ashamed of myself for the harsh words i've typed.Well,i'll look forward to possibly meeting Mr. Buell in nearby Boston soon, and the MB-IV event this March. And i'll be a good elf...... |

Dave,it turns out Jack can be "bought" and fairly easily ,too.No foriegners were successfully kept out--even Manhattan Mike was able to get by Jack. Turns out Jack has an affinity for cashews. |

Court, Pyrotechnics can be very rewarding. I got a "Future Scientist" award from Norther States Power when I was 13. Made gun powder from scratch from an article in a 1950s encyclopedia. The scholarship and accolades were really nice. For the next four years my father was required to talk with a state of MN school psychologist as he set out to "stunt my scientific growth". Dads logic was impeccable. The damn kid makes things that blow up, my job as parent is to stop him. He left the three foot hole in the garage roof my "drainage pipe" rocket had made as a not so subtle reminder of my "achievement". Mom was doing laundry about three feet from the rocket as it launched, I was not aware that my mother could swear as well as any of my other relatives. Teen years are for learning after all. |

Ad Astra per Aspera. . . . You got me there and MAN have I taken the heat for not having either a KANSAS or an ITALIAN flag. My Mom, as some here know, is "somewhat into politics" and she's been on my case about it. . . But, I got back at her. A bout 3 weeks ago she was having lunch with Dick Cheney and all she knew was that he was "bringing a friend". . . well, he did and check out the flags. . NO KANSAS FLAG. It's a frickin' epidemic!

Court, You are confused. One may state the word "ass" here; it's just that one must not expose one's bare ass pictorially here. Rumor is that Mike has done both. Some of us charter member BadWeBrs still suffer flashback bouts of hysterical blindness. |

Hey,MikeyP,too bad you sold the RC51,nice bike.We had a little chat at the Larz over the "ten-speed shifter" choke ASSembly. They really sourced some parts from strange places. But the early EVO XL engine had a weak stator.Easy to replace...but weak in design. Was nice 'ta 'meetcha. |

I feel like an A$$. I have a vision of what i'd like to see in Buell Motorcycles. But mine can be narrow minded,ok.I've twice now, seen the "TT" up close and am impressed. Not to the point of opening my wallet, but a decent bike. My wife sees my interaction here and calls me an a$$. My X1 is coming together after extensive maintainance.Another great machine dismissed by many. But has never let me down,my primary ride... "De plane! De plane!" "Wanna see my slam dunk"? |
