So I'm in San Diego on a business trip and could use someone to show me around or just take me out to go party. I am with a co-worker that is way old and has the rental. I have no rental cause he is the senior and it's in his name. I'm stuck driving with him and he doesn't want to go out. Can someone help a brother out?? I'm actually staying in La Jolla next to the Hard Rock. At least take me to a Buell dealership so I can buy a shirt??? Thanks in Advance!! Jim |

I am up North in Orange County and leaving for Detroit tomorrow on business so I can't help, but the H-D dealer on Kettner (next to the Marina and airport) is a Buell dealer and they carry a pretty decent selection of bikes and apparel. San Diego H-D. --Sean |

Thanks Sean.... I just had dinner at the Hard Rock and found out that SD HD is about a block from there. I'm a couple of miles, if that, from the HRC. |

yea the only thing that sucks is I have no way of getting around but taking cab rides. Do you know of a place that I can take a cab to and hang out for a night? Someone told me to go to Garnet & Mission St. |

I would suggest the Gaslamp district in downtown, ton of bars and restaurants, very good vibe, near a bunch of cool places like Petco Park and the Trolley. May not be quite the excitement that it is in summer, but still cool. Any cabbie will know where to take you. BTW, it is 15 degrees in Detroit. I was picked up at the airport by a car service so I don't have wheels either - just walked an 1/8 mile to TGI Fridays for dinner. Damn its cold. --Sean |

>>>San Diego is a great town. That's an understatment. I was living in Coronado in 1976 during the America's Best City (the birthplace of the "Over the Line" tournament) celebration when Pete Wilson was Mayor. San Diego is a most amazing city and I must confess best city in the world in terms of being able to spedn days having a GREAT time and spending about ZIP. I used to get off work every day, head to Point Loma to go running, go meet some buds for dinner and home to watch the sunset from Coronado by dark. I'd put San Diego near the top of my great places to be list. My son lived there for the last couple years and has just scored a great place on West Dayton in Pasadena that's 1 block from where his finacee' works. In San Diego a "cold winter day" is about 60oF.

Garnet is in Pacific Beach, directly south of La Jolla. Next is Mission Beach. Both are a short cab ride with lots to see and do. Downtown, Gaslamp, Etc. $$$ for a long cab ride! SD HD isn't really into Buell. Bret |

And for steak I can heartily reccomend my ol' Friday night stomping grounds . . . at The Chart House in Coronado next to Glorietta Bay. Of course, then I'd go "patrol" Orange Avenue" . . ahhh...those were the days.

I lived in la jolla for the past year and am now staying in clairemont about 2 miles south of la jolla. Downtown is a $25 cab and garnet in pb is a $5-10 ride. I might be going to PB tonight with some friends so you can hit me up for sure. E-mail me your number, if I go out tonight I'll be in touch. While in la jolla, go to the supermarket Vons, you'll see a bunch of rich, desperate housewives. It's like a silicon dream. |

Kuuud's right, SD HD isn't really into Buell. It's a shame cuz it's so close to la jolla. |

>>>>It's like a silicon dream. Ain't it the truth . . . . I used to haunt the Boll Wevil on Prospect, just above the cave, and ohhhhhhhhhhh my goodness. I should be jailed for memories of those days.

Rainwater's on Kettner - Top 10 steak house. SD H-D downtown seems to be in to Buell. They always have product and apparel, thats better than 3/4 of the other dealers around So Cal not in to Buell. --Sean |
