I am getting ready to pick up an XB from an out of state seller and need to get it home. Does anyone know if it will fit in the back of a mini van?

Yep, go through the side door. Leave the seats at home and take the mirrors off. A trailer is still way easier.

Matt and I put an X1 in the back of a Chrysler town and Country(it was rented, so, almost brand new)

Lowered 1.5-2 inches

I put my bolt in the back of an old astro van.

It can be done. It was a lot of work, it took 3 of us and it was tricky tieing it down.

IMHO get a pick-up truck or a trailer for the van. U-haul rents "bike" trailers around $25 a day.

When I drove to Appleton to pick up my bike, I rented a pick-up truck from Enterprise and hauled it in the back.

I thought about the truck from enterprise. I have to go from Indiana to NY so my only concern is the weather. Any problems with the xb getting snowy and covered in salt?

Salt. Ha. Haha.

Apparently you've never been to NY. We use salt here like it's going to stop world hunger or something.

If you're getting your bike in NY in the winter, do yourself a favor and get something that will protect it from the elements. I don't care if your bike is black, it will be white by the time you leave the state.

Yea I am bringing it to NY. I know all about our salting practices. Plus my work usually rents me a mini van so it would be free to take it home instead of paying to rent the truck some where else myself.

if you end up going the truck rout, do not, i repeat DO NOT put a cover on it and then drive with it that way........ the flapping in the wind will do a number on your shiny new bike..... just let the salt have at her and give her a bath when you get home....

Ditto Phat J. Just put it on the pickup and wash it when you get it home.

With the seats out it should fit in a minivan.

Try clamping down the suspension with tie down straps and letting some air out of the tires for a few more inches of clearance.

I've had everything from a KLR250 to my Lightning (minus mirrors) in the back of my minivan. I even had the Honda CH125 Scooter in it sideways once.

You could even drain the fluids (gas & oil), put it on one side of the van and let it lean over onto the folded seats. Just put something soft under the bike and seats. Another tip is to zip tie the front brake lever to keep the front wheel locked.

I'm thinking more and more about this whole thing. I want to get my bike from the dealer soon so I get the muffler off and send it out ot Odie. If I use my budies trailor, it's going to look like crap by the time it gets me house, and temps will not be above freezing to wash the thing until well into March.

Can you use tie-downs on the parts the seats would attach to?
