What exactly comes in the Buell Factory Tool Kit?

I know there's a bunch of stuff, including a hex for the axles and some other things. I'm mostly interested in making sure there is a spanner wrench for adjusting the shock preload. I have one for sale right now and I'm getting a lot of hits from Buell owners for it.

If it comes with one, it is lousy/akward to use? Should I keep the one I have?

It's this one:

Sorry guys, I'd check myself, but I haven't taken delivery on my 07 yet.

Thanks.

The tool kit comes with a spanner wrench that is no Snap-On, but it does the job just adequately. The other items are a torx tool, and the axle nut tool, and a screwdriver, if I recall correctly.

The spanner you show might be a bit large, not sure, but the space around the shock is pretty cramped.

Hopefully after the preload is adjusted correctly, one doesn't need to change it too often.

As long as it works. The one I have now is a bit beefy.

Thanks.

Hey, what's the little piece of cable fashioned in a double loop for? A helmet lock for use with a little padlock?

Tx, I can answer that one.

It is a helmet lock, but you loop it through the latch for the passenger seat to lock it. My dealer showed me this a few weeks back.

Ahhh...now that makes sense. Thanks! I may just pull it out and use the darn thing instead of wagging my helmet around through stores like a poser while shopping with my girl. It's bad enough that I won't let her ride on my bike with me, so she's always comfortably dressed driving the cage and then here I come clomping along behind her in 30 pounds of black leather and armor wagging a carbon helmet around. I'm sure we make for an interesting looking couple. LOL!

The problem I see with the whole system is where to put the helmet after you put the cable through it.

If you have them on, you could hang it off the right side passenger peg. But what if you don't have the pegs on the bike? Or what about when you have 2 helmets?

I use a gun lock (the kind that my Beretta and HK came with. The little end of the cable fits nicely through the holes in my heel guards then around the chin bar of me skid lid. I hang it from the foot peg and close the visor to keep mother nature out should she decide to get nasty. Lock fits in any pocket I have.
