Well they picked a winner...I personally don't care for the design but I guess it's not bad considering the other options. At least the winner is a Buell guy. Anyone know if he is on the BadWeb? Anyway congrats and enjoy your new ride! http://www.buell.com/en_us/promos/stt_contest/inde x.asp |

I don't like the design either, but props to the guy that won. I think there were some other themes that would have looked better on the TT. --Sean |

i liked that design, but thought some color, subdued green or parchment rather than the stone color would have looked better, kind of like an old globe! congrats to the winner! my design never made it out of the concept stage!! |

Thats the design I voted for. Same here - that was my favorite, though I doubted it would ever win. |

I doubted it would ever win. I didn't,it was very original and far more paintable then some of the others. |

I voted for that "painted chrome" one myself, but after reading the guy's philosophy statement about what the paint scheme means, it makes sense. Kudos. |

At least the winners artwork was original. The pin ups and the firefly were not. |

I liked it, but then I liked the one that Buell had up under their gallery that was very similar but in more of a parchment color. They have since taken that link down, and I didnt save the pic. But it had the rest of the world on it and looked like an old Nautical chart. |

Humboldtblast, Why is it lame..lets see your design?? By the look of things more people liked that one then the others so the majority ruled I guess. |

Which explains why the majority of the 12,000+ votes were for it? How much more democratic could you make it? I sense that no one in Wisconsin wanted, knowing there'd be hissy fits, anything to do with picking THE winner. . . voting pretty much slays the dragons. You may not like it, but MOST folks did. |

I thought a lot of the other designs I saw on Badweb were a lot better. But, congrats to the guy, I guess. Having more choices for a Buell is good for the company. |

Just goes to show the majority of votes didn't come from BadWeBers - a small but significant portion of real Buell enthusiasts. 12000 give or take, National Geographic readers? I think the '46' theme would have won if it were not for it been Rossi's number Rocket |

>>>Just goes to show the majority of votes didn't come from BadWeBers Be mindful that badweb folks, like folks who read motorcycle magazines, make up an infinitesimally small portion of motorcycle owners. Roughly the same proportion that Buell is to HD if I had to guess. . . |

The winner is local to me. Does anyone know when he will be awarded the bike? Where? Will Erik be in town to make the presentation? |

Pity only a small insignificant portion of the globe was used as part of the paintwork.... (Message edited by Mark_in_Ireland on January 30, 2007) |

Pity only a small insignificant portion of the globe was used as part of the paintwork.... Yeah, they should have included Europe and Asia, seeing as how it's an AMERICAN motorcycle. |

Thats the one I voted for also. Given what the choices were, I thought it was the best design. But, have seen better designs right here on BadWeb! |

"Be mindful that badweb folks, like folks who read motorcycle magazines, make up an infinitesimally small portion of motorcycle owners. Roughly the same proportion that Buell is to HD if I had to guess. . ." But we're much louder and more obnoxious. As a proportion of the Buell riding populace, we are pretty significant, certainly not "infinitesimal." Over 3,000 newly registered BadWeBrs joined our ranks in just the past year; we number right near 11,000 registered BadWeBrs in total now, that after culling some 1,500 or so inactive/obsolete accounts. Including lurkers (unregistered visitors) the site sees between 40,000 to 50,000 unique visitors every month. BadWeB currently serves up over 3 MILLION pages per month to people visiting the site, that's more than 100,000 pages every day. I'm sure glad I don't have to stand in a booth handing all those pages out by hand. |
