Does anyone have a Micron Exhaust system on their XB ? I'm about to pull the trigger on one and a Direct Link to remap the ECM. I'm curious about weight difference between stock and Micron, fit & finish, any problems or issues and installation. |

Hey, I know where you can get a deal on a Buell Race Kit Exhaust. I happen to have great knowledge about a cosmetically flawed Race Kit pipe sitting at New River HD in Jacksonville, NC. Seems HD did something wrong with a bike and oil spilled on it and it baked over it. I also have great knowledge that it's been cleaned pretty well. These guys put a new one on his bike and all was good. They still have the other pipe. It's only got about 2-3 weeks on it (150-500 miles, maybe?) So, pretty much, it's perfect, just a couple of "MINOR" stains on the top where you won't see it anyway. I have seen this pipe, personally, and it's fine. Offer em up some money and call it good. They are looking to get it off their hands, I'm sure. |

I will give you my standard answer. I had my bike dynoed with the D&D with Race ECM, then dynoed with Race ECM and Micron. Zeroed the TPS both times, timing both times to where it was supposed to be. 10 Peak horsepower added with just a bolt-on with the Micron. SECOND OF ALL, I had a freak deal with my Micron. The weld for the chin spoiler broke, the front bolt on the Micron broke because an inferior bolt was used, the welds on the inlets broke, the strap ended up breaking, all heck broke loose. I called Al at American Sport Bike he called Micron and I have a new muffler heading back to me anytime now. |

I'll do ya one better. He's talking about MY BIKE. Awesome. Okay, here's the deal. I had a Neutral Indicator Switch replaced couple of weeks ago under warranty. They did it, 2 days later I take it out for a ride, and my back half of my bike is covered in OIL. I thought it was from the swing arm or cooler lines or whatever. Come to find out after a week or so, that it was from my Neutral Indicator Switch or whatever. I guess they made a mistake and didn't tighten a thing or two. Whatever. Anyway, they've been awesome with me. They did put a new pipe on my bike. And yeah, the service manager kinda joked that he said it was the last one in the country. Maybe. But, they were pretty stand up. And yeah, the pipe is not in bad shape. It just wasn't as NEW looking as when I had brought it in to have repairs on it. And Yeah.. It is pretty new. I got it a few days before Christmas and first rode it with that exhaust on New Years Day. I'd say the pipes got 500-600 miles on it. It's just stained around the welds and on the top. Mechanically, it's SUPERB. Cosmetically, I have to agree with Anonymous, it's not that bad. I don't know the email address. You'll have to give me some time on that, but their phone number is 910-346-9997. I would either talk to Ben in parts or Doug in Service. Both have been helping me out, and they are awesome people. Doug is the new Sercvice Mgr. Probably has no say on prices. Ben might. Atleast he would be able to give you a better answer than the service guy. I just got my bike back YESTERDAY. I'd be interested in knowing who knows about my exhaust, however, I did post it here a couple of times about my dilema. It was under the Warranty Issues thread in the XBoard. Doesn't matter, I guess. So that's the best I got for you. I guess just look up New River HD on google and go from there. Good luck Mark |

Finally got my exhaust shootout download to open and it has the Micron 4.5lbs lighter than stock. The can is lighter(10lbs vs 18.5) and the header is heavier (7lbs vs 3). That is for the 12. The 9 has only a half lb of weight savings. |

After looking some more the 12 race can may be the way to go. It weighs the less (13.5 vs 17) and performed with 2 less hp. The money and weight saving is worth it to me, but I don't own a 12 and haven't studied the curves on the dyno sheets. |
