Hi guys! This is a great site. I just purchased a 2002 M2 and I'm trying to make friends with it. I haven't ridden it much because it's really cold now but I am pretty sure I would like a little more rise to the bars, maybe 1 - 2 inches. I think I read that the S2T bars will fit? Are they the same as the Blast bars? Will I need to change my cables and wires and things if I add an inch or two of rise? Thanks. I'm going to have a lot more questions. |

Dwardo, I put S3T bars on my Cyclone. I've been told they are the same as Blast bars. I really like them, didn't have to change cables or wires. I still sit slightly forward, which is good, not hunkered down like the stock bars. ( I'm getting old ) |

BTW, Welcome! You've purchased one of the most fun/best all around bikes ever made. I'm sure others here will agree. There's a ton of knowledge and comradere' here. |

Thanks! I know what you mean about the old thing. I measured the bars at just about 1 inch lower and 2 inches narrower than the low bars on my Norton. It just seems to be 1 inch too low for my neck. |

I think I read that the S2T bars will fit? Nope. S3T will tho. Are they the same as the Blast bars? Yep. Same thing. About 25 bucks here or on ebay. Will I need to change my cables and wires and things if I add an inch or two of rise? Nope. Bolt right on there. Welcome to the most comfortable Buell platform going. |

don't know anything about the bars but welcome and like the other's have said already and more are soon to tell you, you have the best bike of the all with less problems outside of the speed sensor, and the best all around bike they ever made for everyone. tall short or whatever. the reason i've left my bars alone is when i'm by myself and riding i'll kick my feet up on the rear set and give my legs another position cause i'm just as old as buellmiester (8-31-57) and my legs get cramped so the further i'm leaning down in front the more i'm stretched out overall. the most i've put on the bike in a week is 3100 miles and i figured i can do about 500 a day without it killing my legs and hip. anyway good luck and enjoy. |

Ah, I overlooked one thing. You have an '02, which has a tach and speedo. This pushes the speedo over to the left, which may be in the way of your clutch cable if you go to the higher bars. You will want to hear from someone with an '01-up M2 with tach to make sure the T bars will fit your bike. Check out this thread in the KV. It talks about your options when installing higher bars with a tach. |

I have an '00 M2 (with the tach kit) on which I have installed the S3 bars. Yes, the clutch cable indeed hits the rear casing of the speedo in this configuration. I got around this be reaming out a section of the speedo rear housing to allow the clutch cable to cross through the corner of the housing, then waterproofed the hole. Seems to work fine. |

I have a '99 with the tach kit-like Kilroy says, it hits the plastic but it's an easy fix. The upright seating is worth the extra effort. |

I will be getting the Blast bars before my long trip this summer! Thanks guys! I didn't know this kind of easy add on was available! Could somebody post a couple pictures of the bars on a cyclone? Just FYI, New blast bars retail for about $42 from the dealership (just checked today). |

I got the tach on mine, and it makes the speedo in the way, when Blast bars are used. I routed the clutch cable down between the frame tubes that hold the steering stem. It still blocks the bottom of the speedo, but what the heck. don't use that part of it anyway. Slightly sharper bend on the cable too, make sure you lube the cable. I could stand another inch taller, but the Flanders Buell Touring bars, which spec out just about perfect, run about $80. I'm too cheap, the Blast bars on eBay run from $5 to $25 or so. |

I guess we'll all get into a bidding war over the first pair that comes along. |

The more I think about it, the more I don't think I'll need the bars till my big trip in August. I might try to snag some if I see them for cheap cheap. But if others are bidding, I'll probably just wait. |

Fly an ad here in the classifieds. I had a set of bars at my door in a week. You can also save a search on fleabay and you'll be notified when they come up there. I may have a spare set, now that I think about it. Ping me if interested and I'll have a look in the shop. Joe |
