A friend of mine has an X1 and the rod that runs through the throttle body that holds the throttle plate broke... Anyone know where to get one or if you've got one... How much do you want for it? |

It's a snap to replace the throttlebody if you take the tank off. The throttlebody comes with a new TPS already installed. So the TPS will have to be zeroed after it's done. The thing with the shaft is sneaky/smart: The diameter of the new shaft is the same as the old one but the screws that hold the plate to the shaft are smaller.... So the holes are smaller.... So there is more brass left in the shaft! Remember to replace the intake seals. |

Just replaced mine with one I got from DaveS, under $90 to my door. The new one has the butterfly pass through the shaft, rather than machining the shaft for a flat and attaching butterfly to one side of shaft. Bike is back together and runs like shit due to tps issue. Hate to go to dealer, contemplating purchase of necessary software, etc... and do it myself. SteveH |

The new ones are hard to be at $90. A used one could have the smaller shaft. DAve |

The ebay VDST had an issue or two. Ordered new one from American Sport Bike. Would rather spend a bit more with Al, and know he has my back, in case I have difficulty figuring out how it works. It looks like Al has a good bit of time working with the system. SteveH |

}It looks like Al has a good bit of time working with the system. "asb" Al Saved My Butt, Steve thats a true statement, the only issue you will have is IF the PC does not have an onboard Serial Port. If so get the key span from Al you will be GTG. Jim } |
