Just a wild guess here, if it's only worn in one spot, perhaps something got wedged in the belt guard temporarily? Or, does it continue to wear? Jack up the rear and spin the tire, look for runout at he pulley. Peace Milo |

Make sure that your lower belt guard on the swingarm has plenty of clearance away from the belt. They're pretty close anyway. For no apparent reason a few thousand miles ago I noticed mine had become so close to the belt that a slight push on the plastic would make it touch the belt. Not good IMO since I don't know what goes on down there while riding, so I slipped a nylon washer in there to space it away about 1/8". I'm just guessing here, but if you only have that fraying in one spot (which looks like a lot to me), and the belt teeth in that spot are protruding that far out from the pulley, you might want to remove it for an in-depth inspection. Your belt might be self-destructing... |

I have a small frayed spot on the edge of my belt, not a big deal. But my belt teeth fit VERY snuggly into th sprocket. Your's look really loose. I'd check that out for sure. |

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/384 2/3593.html?1166151433 Look through there and see if it matches your problem. Mine ended up being the idler pulley. But it was the whole belt and not just a section like yours. |

Took my bike in to the dealer today, they took a look at it and replaced it under warrenty, they had seen a belt do this before and said it was a faulty belt.[10,000 kms]With the new belt on i notice an increase of power to the rear wheel. I now sit on the air box to stop the front lifting.ha ha ha |
